I'll never forget the 8 hour drive I took with my brother as we headed from middle-Georgia to Florida to see my Grandfather one last time. We knew he wasn't long for this world and we were listening to songs and talking the whole trip, as we took his car since we attended the same college. At about 5 minutes out from my grandfathers house this song came on un-requested and totally random in the I-pod playlist and somehow it was perfect, all either my brother or I could do was stay silent as we drove those final moments looking at the road ahead of us staring out the windshield wondering what would happen next, listening to this song. Turns out he would pass on that same day after we all came to his bedside and uniformly declared we didn't want him to hurt anymore, it was spiritual. It was the first time I ever saw someone pass, it probably wont be my last but as long as I am alive I will remember that trip and this song. Thank you Coldplay.

During my sophomore year in college, I asked a girl out from my physics class. On the set day, it rained cats and dogs. I asked if she still wanted to go, which she did. We went to this pizza place for our first date and when we got out the rain had stopped. We took a stroll through a quint little downtown area, while admiring the beauty of the neon lights reflecting from the wet streets. As we walked a little more, there was this street singer sitting on a bench, playing guitar and performing this song, Yellow. I felt the song and kissed her passionately. In 2006, I didn't even like Coldplay. However, this song became our song and the word Yellow just meant different to us.

my mom passed away on June 19th this year. she would always sing this song whenever she'd be doing anything. she was 53 when she'd passed. i know now that shes with my dad. he was 49 when he passed. those two were lovebirds together. i know theyre both happy now. im only 14 but i can recall this song from when i was young. i know this song reminded my mom of my dad. i'll miss them both. but i know my moms happy now.
alcohol can do things to a person. i lost both of them that way. cirrhosis got them two. liver failure and kidney failure. and other things that i wasnt even aware of.
this song brings me comfort. it hurts but. it reminds me of them. fly high mom. dads with you now.

When this song came out, I had just gotten out of a 4 year relationship and was so depressed and suffered from insomnia. One morning around 4am, unable to sleep, I turned to VH1 and this video came on. I was in a trance. It was depressing and uplifting at the same time but it woke me up out of my depression. So every time I hear this song, I smile and this story comes to mind.
