"Time" was a piece commissioned by The Jazz Gallery for the 2018-2019 Jazz Gallery Commission Series and was composed by Shai Maestro. The commission features all new music, for the exception of a virtuosic arrangement of Duke Ellington's In A Sentimental Mood, that has yet to be recorded by the ensemble. With this commission, Maestro switched up his usual piano/bass/drums trio setup into something like a chamber ensemble which allowed room for the group to utilize different sounds rather than only their traditional roles.
This performance is from the second set of the Jun 8 2019 performance.
