    Maybe a video on kitbashing complex parts together and making into a low poly mesh using Quad Remesher? If that isn't already on here and I just haven't found it

    check out the chamfer zone guy...hes got some neat tricks for hs that might be interesting to u....poly work mesh smooth involves remesher then a particular smooth op then decimate...

    So I see a lot of Boolean and box cutting. The shape looks really cool, but how nasty would the retopology be on this?

    • @pzthree
      @pzthree  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Ideally, you wouldn't. Only need to work it into a high and optimize it as a low. Working it in both directions if possible. Not exactly a full retopo.
      That is if you even approach it in that manner. Depending on how large it is. This thing may use a trim, atlas, or even material layers.
      Right now it is mostly an abstract shape as it has no real function. So it's purpose drives the process.

      From this add-on, you do a low poly version. Then you turn with Zbrush magic your low poly to high poly and ta-da!
      You just need to think how many loops you want to do, because all this detail must be Union, and then you fix your topology to trinalge.

      If you're not going to deform this model, I suspect the shading will hold just fine. The ngons will not cause problems until you need to flex the surfaces. And if you do need retopology, depending on what your model needs to be capable of, you may be able to retopo relatively quickly with quad remesher. Pzthree has a demonstration on how. Its expensive but pretty amazing.

      Big studios demands you to use Maya ... but you can work as freelancer using just Blender for indie game developers

    at 18 minutes in you couldve used looptoopls to flatten the two chosen faces

    This is a very good tutorial. It's not meant to teach step by step. It's meant to teach ideas. I think it's underrated because you used paid addons. There's nothing inheritantly wrong with paid addons. The problem is your audience. The people who want to learn 3d through Blender, chooses Blender for one reason only, it's free. Your audience has no intention of forking out any money for software. If they did, they'd probably consider better software. Paid addons almost never gel well with the Blender community. The very essence of Blender is free and freedom.

      the addons are dirt cheap. the audience is ok paying sometimes its not just purists. 20plus year cur employed game artist here i use blender and alot of other things

      @@dannyfranco199 not lazy.. just tired of people relying on these specific add-ons. But hey, if you want to be that person who automatically reverts to calling names and judging a single response.. cool.. you do you.

    • @dannyfranco199

      @@HrafnNordhri it IS lazy. You can follow along without the addons. There is literally no reason to state that someone else using addons would prevent you from following along. Claiming that you won’t follow along specifically because they use the addons just makes you ignorant and lazy. Go ahead though, complain more.

      Blender is an open source software, one thing led to another, high quality addons abound. This is an advantage, not a problem, take advantage of it.

      @@dannyfranco199choosing an action based on a personal preference is lazy and ignorant.. ok. I will disagree. I will also point out that nothing in my original post was against the person using the tools, nor an invite to have to deal witl people like yourself. You have a great night/day, but our interaction is done. Its a choice, I'm not too lazy to not spar with you. I just choose not to. Go on and be mad.
