Marcus, the celebrity titbits are really eye-opening! The pressure & demands on the actors obviously do not stop once the productions wrap up .... the promo sessions then kick in. No demand or question is considered too embarrassing. I do feel that actors are simply not afforded enough "genuine human respect & dignity" by the media or their so called "fans". Too many obviously equate being an actor to being a born "exhibitionist" in the worse sense of the term 😞

I like The Princess Royal, it has an interesting approach to the relationship, and the couple's dialogue is natural (something extraordinary in period dramas). The Double is entertaining recommendable. Let's not ask too much of it, but it does its job. See you!

Thanks! Marcus I tend to binge to catch up on your vids. Can you occasionally explain what booting and pass review mean. I think you mention 3 different types and I can’t tell if they are filming, getting ready to air, etc. I can’t determine my anticipation lol. Especially as I’m finding some shows have aired after 3 yrs and some end up not at all. Appreciate your hard work!
Hi there, will do! Booting ceremonies are held when a show starts filming (usually on the first day of filming). Conversely, wraps are when the show is done filming, almost always on the last day of filming, and sometimes lead actors will wrap before the last day of filming so they will hold theirs first. And after a show has finished filming, and gone through post production (ie. editing, dubbing, color-grading etc) they get submitted to pass review so they can get a license to air. Hope this helps, and thanks for the suport!

Hello, just read that a new drama with Chen Zheyuan and Li Qin has started shooting, booting scheduled for July 22 ! Wondering when The Golden Hairpin and Dark Night and Dawn will be shown. The White Olive Tree seems to be slotted in for September after the Olympics.
I am watching As Beautiful As You (relaxing all considered, till ep.10), The Princess Royal (enjoyable) and will start on Lost You Forever S2 imminently. 😂
Oh and happy for The Tale of Rose, I liked it a lot, enthused by Liu YiFei, Lin Gengxin and all the others (Peng Guanying, Lin Yi, Tong Dawei, Wan Qian, Wallace Huo... )

As Beautiful As You is pretty good. I've stopped the Angel Zhao Princess Royal one, it was getting more and more boring. And the stars have little chemistry. Hard slog, not much pay off and keeps rehashing the past. The original premise of how the story starts where she had him killed in their past life was dubious already.
Just finished The Double (one of the best so far this year), but disappointed IQIYI didn't offer alt ending. Also just finished The Midnight Romance in Hagwon; a great modern drama I haven't seen discussed much. Now following As Beautiful As You; this is a good one too.

Only interested in the Bai Lu drama of all the ones that recently passed ... hope it comes out before the end of the summer, but it's more likely to get put into the 4th quarter rotation, I guess ...
Wow .. .that picture with Edward Guo illustates how tall Peng Xiaoran really is! Of course Li Hongyi looks gorgeous in those costumes lol ... hopefully the drama will turn out well... I've found him a bit hit and miss, dramawise.
Amazing that The Tale of Rose is still top... I expect As Beautiful as You will pass it next week, though ... And not surprised about Princess Royal ... despite a lot of downtalk and naysaying on the 'nets, it's turning out to be an intriguing and enjoyable drama. These palace intrigue quasi-historical dramas are not really my cup of tea, but the leads are doing a good job of keeping the characters interesting.

Looking forward to Smile Code, though the trailer is a bit puzzling. They’re giving out serious dark thriller vibes with the one I saw. Also, I tried the Seven Tan and Xu Kai drama. While I love them both as actors, this was a dud for me. It’s like individual ingredients that taste great alone but not together. The guy cast as her bf looked like her baby brother who got into their mom’s makeup bag. I feel absolutely zero chemistry between ST and XK. Not sure why. 🤷🏻♀️ My second dropped drama after Princess Royal. Luckily I discovered Nothing But Thirty recently, but now I’m just patiently waiting for Lost You Forever S2.
I thought the same thing about Smile Code's trailer. Quite dark..
I find the couple Xu Kai and Seven Tan an excellent pairing. They transmit very good chemistry and I am enjoying As Beautiful As You very much. Episode 11 ended so intriguing, can't wait for tomorrow's episode. You may have dropped too soon, because it's gotten better and better by the day...I have been waiting for new episodes every day since it started. A thumbs up for me is ABAY!
I’m lukewarm on both those dramas as well. I’ll get to them later. I just finished a Kdrama called Whirlwind which was fantastic! My Cdramas fix is Lost Identity. There are few other dramas I want to watch that are not traffic dramas. Take care 🌸💃🏽
