I’ve met one cop I liked. Black dude, mid-thirties, met him when he knocked on our front door to ask if it was okay if he parked on the grass in our front yard for a speed trap (ya know, like a normal human that doesn’t want to trespass might do). On hot days he’d give cold waters to the 5th graders down the road who were crosswalk sign holders after school (for younger kids walking home).
Later met him again at a BBQ at our neighbors’ house so we became family friends. And he quit the police department a couple years back, only in his early forties. Never asked him why he quit so early, but now I really wish I had.

And you can drive as you please on your own property. I have had both good and bad interactions with cops, some definitely get way too enamored with their power. Most realize its a job, not a holy calling. But cops doing their jobs makes for mostly boring viewing.
