The next chapter for Healthy Heart Africa

We’re expanding beyond our current focus on hypertension to target a broader range of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Our expanded scope aims to improve the resilience, sustainability and equity of African health systems. This is a critical priority given the growing burden of NCDs across the continent.
Healthy Heart Africa was started in 2014 to address the increasing burden of cardiovascular diseases in Africa. The programme has already achieved its initial ambition to reach 10+ million people with elevated blood pressure in Africa, nearly two years ahead of target.
