1000% validated. if those images were the images she was using to populate business- that should at least be along the lines of what you should’ve received. her excuse of not knowing what you wanted is actually absurd- ask questions??? she didn’t send you anything even close to the same skill set she’s claiming on her etsy profile.

You're 100% validated. I'm a crafter myself and this isn't okay. Personally I think this was a scam. The pictures from the listings are done by someone with a lot of skill and practice. The cookies you got are a newbie at best. I don't believe they were done by the same person. Even rushed they shouldn't look that bad. I'm not sure whether this was a new artist using immoral methods to try to get their foot in the door or an evil person trying to steal money, but it's a scam either way. All of us crafters and artists started somewhere and it took us time to perfect our skill. I hate when newbies try to sell crap at expert prices. It's even worse when they lie about it. I would still make Etsy aware, leave an honest review, and post the name to warn people.

sorry you went through this! that must have been stressful and disappointing. this year we got scammed by taskrabbit, a company Ikea uses (i don't know why) for furniture assembly. our PAX unit got destroyed, floor dinged and the guy just took off. It was so stressful to deal with and i was so saddened that people do this. it's really sad that some people can't just at least be honest when they can't do a job they say they can. this person must have had fake reviews on their account. awful that people do this!

It legit seems like the store used stock images or images from another store. I have half a mind to reverse image search those images from the storefront because I legit think this is a very classic scam.
Always read reviews of stores, especially when they have these super high quality images… sometimes low quality images on Etsy are more reassuring bc there’s less of a chance they’re just stealing images. Idk just always read reviews and never buy from a store that doesn’t have reviews. That’s my experience. Stay safe out there. I’m sorry you had that awful stressful experience.

I have a question kinda about the ads: I have been subscribed to CZcams premium ever since it became available. So, obviously I don’t ever see any of the ads. But with that being said, do you know how much money you get from a CZcams Premium viewer versus a non-CZcams premium viewer? I’ve always been curious as to how that works.

This just happened to me but with a lash tech, I made a whole Tik tok about it because it caused a huge fight between a friend and I. Paid around $140 for a set of lashes that didn’t stick (I didn’t complain) but when the lash tech saw they were gone she offered to do them again and then got mad at me I didn’t pay her another $100 when I didn’t even want the appointment anyway. I was pissed
She wanted to make it right for free and then complained

I feel like your reaction was totally warranted - you clearly did not get what you paid for and this seller's attitude was beyond unprofessional, alone the way she replied to you was a big "no-no". Like even if she didn't have enough information, like you said she could've asked and she could've given examples from her previously made cookies, so that you can say "Yeah this is what I had in mind". There are so many different ways the seller could've handled this but she chose to be petty and unattentive but at least - silver lining is that you got a refund. Small businesses are not freed from the responsibility to deliver what they've promised.

So I obviously went to Etsy after this and I found this seller. I think she actually made those shitty cookies bc if you look at review photos it’ll have a good one with others done like yours. Messed up circle engagement ring, white on white or green on green seems common and some of the overall shapes match what she did for you. Idk how you can make cookies so cute and cookies that shitty and be the same person.
I know that’s what I’m saying like I am not someone who ignores the red flags of a bad shop like everything about her page was legit so I would love to know the explanation because SOMETHING happened here - whether they were forgotten and done last second, done by an apprentice, etc. Wish there was some honesty on her end because I will forever be curious lol
