@@ekedokenneth3897 Ig had a cold in Ostrava (that's why she didn't put too much "thunder" in her strokes back then) and she's got a cold again ! ..it's a pity because it always affects the effectiveness of the game and on that level small details decide how the game goes

2021 happening again. Barbora starting to build form confidence and get on a roll. It all kind of started at Doha or Dubai - when she lost to Muguruza in a close match in the final of a 1000 tourney. Love to see her get the trophy this time xx
she was injured in 2022 that's why she only showed her strength later and won tallin, ostrava.
@@davidlindt yes it took her a while to first find the stamina, then slowly build the confidence. Is a shame Ostrava was only a 500 as she beat great players and of course Iga in the final. Be good to see her win a 1000 in Dubai where it all started a few years ago

Not a bad result for Pegula. Now she doesn't have to stay around for the trophy presentation after getting demolished by Swiatek in the finals. Getting demolished in the first and third sets in the semifinals is preferable. Great match by Krejcikova and great tournament so far.

True, but Swiatek did have to travel 600 miles from Brisbane to Sydney the day before, whereas Pegula did not. Also, what happened last week in Doha? The opposite.

A match of two who are among the best no-frill players on the tour. Krejcikova once again had a difficult match but again she kept her calm and played her usual smart tennis to win. It was in so many ways impressive like her win in the previous match over Sabalenka. Does a rematch with Swiatek await?

Besides an in form Osaka, Krejcikova is probably one of the only other players that have the power, skills and toolset to push and beat Iga right now. She's the epitome of a smooth tennis player, rarely ever looks rushed and under pressure. Her powerful groundstrokes are deceiving, Even though she has a big backswing, when she winds up it's difficult to tell where she's gonna go most of the time. Her ball and direction control is top notch. She's like a more powerful Azarenka with better net skills.
Iga have to be very careful tomorrow. Barbora is playing fabulous tennis this week.

I thought Sabalenka would make the final, but Krejcikova is playing fantastic. Beating Pegula after the previous grueling match is awesome. I still think Iga wins it all though.

Barbora is probably the most well rounded player on tour. But she seems to have an on/off button which switches at will. She combines world class moments with very poor quality shots, as if she were uninterested at times. Anyways, tomorrow she is up against The Polish Bull terrier. Should be a fun one to watch. I am taking Iga to win it in straight sets. It won't be easy though
Iga played the same number of matches in the past 2 weeks as Barbora in the past 5 days (5). She is therefore a great favourite, despite her cold.
Lets not forget Krejcikova beat Iga in the Ostrava final last year. She's done it once, she can do it again

* Kręcikova - tak wypada ją nazywać po jej rżnięciu głąba i kantowaniu przy 2 piłkach podczas wygranych przez nią RG ;) (kto nie pamięta to przypomnę - kontrowersyjna piłka meczowa w singlu oraz udawanie, że nie widzi, że piłka dotknęła Siniakovą w deblu z tego co pamiętam). Ja nie zapomniałem. Ale po tym jak Kręcikova ograła Screamalenkę, to przynajmniej na uszy nie ogłuchnę po tym meczu :) ;). Barbora jest blisko wygrania z numerem 1,2 i 3 rankingu, bo została jej już tylko jedna przeszkoda, ale ja jednak wolałbym by tego nie zrobiła.

Krejcikova is a joy to watch..such clean strokes and uses her tennis brain..glad she getting back to her best..IGA-SABALENKA-KREJIKOVA-RYBAKINA we have again some top rivalry in WTA
Three of them have ZERO personality. Only Sabalenka has a personality. This doesn't help the game. We need top performers with personalities that can transcend the sport.

@@geoffvalero3516 ostapenko is awful. She is unlikable and has horrible sportsmanship. And she looks like an stuffed potato. But she is not anywhere near a top 5 player anyway. Too inconsistent.
iga has 0 atar quality, barbora isnt much better. rybakina is so almost aloof & cold & disconnected to her emotions when she plays, which is good for her game, but it doesnt make good tv, she doesnt put on a show outside of her tennis.
Czech players are some of the most technically correct players and tactically correct players in the game. I was actually hoping to see Pegula's last match against Muchova in QF but Muchova pulled out of that match. Pegula, in my opinion, is a bit like Wozniacki, she is very consistent with her game, but lacks the extra gear to compete with the like of Swiatek. Players like in this case Krejcikova, Rybakina certainly has that extra gear to go to.
I think you wanted to say 'they do have big weapons', instead of extra gear, whereas Pegula doesn't have big weapons, but she is very consistent though :-)
Barbora makes tennis looks so simple! Her gameplay is so smooth and calm, although I fear it won't be enough to match iga's power and placement. Really good to watch though!

This version of Krejcikova plays even better than Barty used to play. The bad thing is that she plays this high-level, only one or two times per year!

On paper, Jpeg must be feeling some kind of way lately but the truth is Krejickova is just THAT good, Plus, she tagged that 2nd set off her at the very least. Makes you wonder though: Krejickova belongs in the top ten. You should get something for what she has accomplished so far.

Since AO Pegula dropped the level asf she's soft most of the rallies the service is basically put the ball in play and she back to be an error machine. She had a bagel today to avoid a bagel tomorrow in terms of entertainment MAYBE that's the best one-side matches make me look for smth better to do.
I think she needs a break. She's played every single tournament since AO, and she also plays doubles. Swiatek and Sabalenka both took a couple of weeks off after AO to recover.
