Fun fact, the Muchroom zombies are called "Clickers" and I bet you can guess why.
throwing stuff to distract the clickers is a main feature of the game, so yeah they could've. would've been nice if they included that in clicker scenes

Just by the way. The infected in Last of Us are not Zombies. It is people controlled by the fungus who are still alive. If the infected are dead, then they are dead too.
