  • As part of our Massey Ferguson 135 Multipower restoration series I overhaul the multipower clutch pack. The clutch pack is the same on all multipower tractors so this information will be handy for other models as well as the MF135.

    Interesting Lance. I once put an engine back together without a piston ring compressor and you just reminded me of that after 35 yrs, lol. My fingers and nails were not happy for a while after. It was only a 2 liter 4 so it was not like I was doing a V12. Still to this day I do not know who needed my ring compressor more than I did as it was not a boomerang shape. Cheers Mate John, EC Australia.

    10:30 yes that's a bit disappointing about the design of the new ring. Glad to see you putting the old one back in instead, I would have done the same.

    Hello, sir, thank you for the education video168 tractor un multıpover still hasn't been repaired. I've only changed the pirizdirek tarik rings, and the factory is working with materials, working 850 hours a year since 1975.Even though I don't know your language, I'm trying to grasp what you're talking about from mechanical experience, and I'm learning my incomplete knowledge.I enjoy watching your other videos diarrhea ignition time video very instructive It's hard to get such sensitive and original spare parts around here anyway I'm glad to know you so far away I'm glad to know you in isolation I'm a small farmer who produces vegetables, those who share their interest in greetings from Turkey are those who deserve respect like you if you'll have a question wishing you a glass of Cabernet sivingnon wine, which I made naturally on your behalf.Be entrusted to God my name is Abbas Sener

      Some times it can be from a blocked filter, as the engine revs up the pump will cavitate. I would clean or replace the filter and possibly the back end oil and see if there is a difference. With a clean filter as you rev it gets more pressure and holds in normally.

      My MF65 did the same thing and as it was noted my filter was badly clogged. Cleaned that and now works a treat. Cheers.

    I have been having a problem with a sticky brake on my MF 175 and have looked through your great videos for one on brakes but haven't found one. Ed (on my wife's youtube account).

    I replaced all my clutch plates and friction discs in my MF 50a and the plates were supposed to dished according to the manual. I repurchased them by part number through AGCO and they sent me flat plates as well so I just went with it and disregarded the manual. That said, there is no compression between the discs because I didn’t have springs either like you have here. I just fired the tractor up this evening and of course, it doesn’t want to go into gear at all. There’s still a few things I have to check but is this something that can keep my tractor from going into gear?

    • @BundyBearsShed
      @BundyBearsShed  Před 4 lety

      Not normally, Usually the pressure will lock the pack and the spring will release it so air testing on the bench would have been a help.

      Agreed! Unfortunately I wasn’t even aware of that handy little test until just recently when researching more into the problem. It may end up coming to that though if I can’t figure out what else to troubleshoot. And thank you so much for all your amazing videos. They’ve been such a great help!

    Hi Bundy! You seem like the guy to ask when it comes to multipower. I have a 1963 Mf65 where the mutlipower slips alot. It feels like it engage a little when engine braking, but if you give it some gas it slips straight away. I have heard about people who removes the multipower function. In one of your videos you talked about a home made shim between two gears instead of a spring. Is that enough to make the MP stay in High range all the time? Because i do not need the MP function really. I just want it to stay in High all the time because i use it for road transport only.
    Thanks/ Richard Andersson.

      It can be as simple as the sealing rings on the front shaft wearing g out. If you have it split to fit a washer I reckon fix it. The washer does lock you in high from memory.

    • @YesterdaysMachinery
      @YesterdaysMachinery Před rokem +1

      @@BundyBearsShed Okay, the front shaft is removable from the clutch housing i think? I will check the valve and front shaft. Maybe check the oil pressure? But i reccon the pressure is low, otherwise it should work. Thanks for the answer.
