I love that Yussef Days while druming has always the facial expression that his life depends on it.
he's not imitating though his life depends on the groove :D
Living in the split second !
Where do you think the money to pay the bills comes from? 😅
Yep.Saw him last year in Miami and he played like his life was in the line lol..Don't save him..Legend!!
Blind Mac Miller is pretty good at the keyboards
exactly what i was thinkin
Gnarly
RIP
wouldn't that be something he never died faked it just to live a simple life as Larry Fisherman on the keys,
I thought that was the late Mac Miller on keys too because he actually could actually play this.
it's 2019 and bassists still can't get no respect

Far from sight, far from the hearth :(
Simon Liebowitz Thundercat is pretty popular tho
@@wacodraco1558 Zendaya's popular too and she's not in this video either.
Exactly!! The guy is playing his ass off from the get go and still not a glimpse until the very end. I didn't even saw his face. What a shame!
PLAYED THIS SO LOUD, THE NEIGHBORS CALLED THE COPS TO LISTEN TO IT TOO.
Respect!
Yes, 911? I'm at 19th Edison Street...
You've gotta come listen to this!
Prove it

@@fraserharding6781 it’s just a joke
Drumming so good it's hurting him.
Drumming hurt me so good I cried.
Good drumming always hurts
Да там вообще впечатление, что щас в штаны наложит, терпит из последних сил )))
lollllll
stankface ? :)
future so bright the piano player needa wear sunglasses
lol !!!!!!!!
they broke up :(
das Henry Wu
That's messed up.. I think he's blind.
Jacko Ho Its Kamaal Williams. He allway wearing sunglasses and a hat.
Its 2023 still listening to it ❤ please come together again to create amazing stuff like this
That bassline at the start was such a groove. Shame the visual didn't cover him! What a dude.
was it Rocco?
@@maze9828 no a man called Tom Driessler
Witness protection program?
YES !!! ! !!
WTF!!! why didnt they film the bass at the beggining??!?!?! those lines were out of this world, and then they film him playing tonics.... shame on you BBS!!
Ivan Ehtnioj right! I was thinking the exact same thing
same here!!!
i tought the bass was on ableton live until i saw him in the end, such a shame
Yeah they should’ve filmed that!
exactly. everything else was great, just wanted to see each instrument in their prime moment!
that floating head is pretty good on the drums
best comment on this vid
took me a while to work out what on earth you were on about but now I know.
The man is totally feeling it - really enjoyable to watch!
haHAAAA
That's actually my accounts picture
These jokes will never get old hahaha
2:45 - can't get past how good this bass note is
Such a shame the bassist doesn't get the shine he deserves. Those lines he laid down in the beginning were filthy.
Yussef Daves must be one of the greatest drummers in the world. The way he keeps it in the pocket all the way gives me chills
So tight. Agreed.
Yussef DAYES
It's just too bad there's no resonant heads on his toms
Dig the energy is so strong looks like his chest is going to bust in half, sticking technique is rich. Very enjoyable this is. Bass is killer too for all that have mentioned. On another note, most of us fight with all of these contradictions and hypocrisy, I just cant understand promoting nikke
However, you gotta listen drummer Chris Dave. He's from the Robert Glasper experiment
my man youtube got my back lately with these recommendations
Ooooooh that's where jazz went.....GUYS ITS OVER HERE!!!!
lol
No it isnt
The drummer has the duality to sound like chopped drum breaks on a sampler and then like the actual source of those drums breaks in the same song. Amazing skill and passionate playing
before absolutely tearing that kit to shreds in the best way possible - I imagine the drummer having one of the hottest, spiciest chilli's ever and now he cant handle the spice so he just plays. Jokes aside it's some of the tightest drumming ever. wow
someone call an ambulance, the basement is on fiaaa
DaNeedle dawg that would require a firetruck, not an ambulance
DaNeedle only Un can handle this kind of fire 🔥
Somebody Call the Fire Brigade, there's been a murder at the Basement...
#NeverGoFullRetard
LMAO!!
Someone call 4Hero , their material has been robbed.
Shouldn't it be the firebrigade for a fire ma dude?! You're a bit slow on this one xD
the best part about his drumming is that in his face you can see that he his LISTENING to everyone of the musicians around him. And feeding off of them. That is class. That is what a drummer is. Amazing
Can't remember the last time I was this impressed hearing a drummer play for the first time.
So Dope. What a tight band. I'd play the triangle in this combo for free .I'd play it sparingly and tastefully ( I am an acomplished Triangalista ) Plus I'd make the coffee and run errands for them. Seriously though this is the shit.
Lol nice
John Barrett same here.this is pure music.u know if they add a bunch girls shaking thier asses this video would go viral
you get my humor man. i used to joke to people that i play the electric triangle when they asked what instrument i play... most people didnt think it was that funny :(
F'n great comment.
lol..well, ya got one! I just keep envisioning the Geico commercial with the triangle guy going off on a tangent!
That drumming sends vibrations through me. Sounds like some good 90's dnb
Also wished to have seen that funky bassline being played in the beginning.
First time ive ever seen someone mention dnb on a non-dnb related vid. love u lol
90’s DNB is the shit, are you ready for the sound of LTJ Bukem? Leaving your thoughts cruisin’…
Drummer is slingin' that 90's dnb vibe for sure. @FlipedJoe, yeah LTJ def the man and don't forget Peshay, Roni Size, etc.
That might be the tastiest guitar lick I've ever heard in my entire life
Im into black metal but I adore this music!!! Such a groove and that guitar solo is pure gold
Recc - Neptunian Maximalism, Imperial Triumphant, Ophidian I, Anima Tempo, Glass Mind as a few metal bands that may scratch a middleground itch for ya. or bohren and der club of gore.
The bass guitarist is totally under represented in this video...AMAZING. It provides the legs for this piece.
Your boy straight killed it in pajamas. 'Nough said...
💯🔥
underrated
Doubt he did wasnt exactly pyjamas. Woz it. Mate.
0:55 That crash is perfectly placed with the perfect pitch. Something about it.
Damn I miss those 2 playing together - had tickets to see Yussef Kamaal a year or so ago, and that was the night they broke up!! They are a match made in heaven.
Yeah why did they even break up?
i love the drummers facial expressions, he enjoyes himself so much! love the music too ofcourse
man he was feeling it before everyone came in
zabilos12 Its all feeling, that's when you get to the point where you find that tight groove in your head it's euphoric!
Man seriously this made me shiver and sweat... They play the right notes, hit the right beats. It's exactly want I want to hear.
Ernthir facts i agree papi
These guys (Mansur and Yussef especially for me) are comedically good, the UK jazz scene is silly levels of exciting right now
those bass lines at the start are so sick, and they show the 2 chord piano insteed...
This group is amazing! Mac Miller killing it on that keyboard tho! xD
this comment aged poorly lol
Killa drums
its 2021 and I still come back to this video!!!
The return of musicians that can really play.
my 1st time hearing this group.. phenomenal !!
My first time, too, Genius!!!!!
iiiso Dope
They broken up sad
*smiling* ONe of my favourite videos. :) Check out how both of them soooo feeling the vibes before even jamming, especially the drummer XD XD XD XD.
Check out Joe Armon-Jones. Same label, and similar style on the keys but more electronic instrumentation.
Listening to this tune restores my faith in humanity immediately. Cheers
So true I was wondering that creative exploring human beings are still out there - thnx god 🙌
It's 2020 and that intro part is still some of the tastiest bass I've ever heard.
You ever listened to the tainted
@@fraserharding6781 no sir! What's the jam?
That smile on the guitarists face is how my soul feels listening to this.
WHO IS THIS GUITARIST???
@@horscaste Mansur Brown, complete monster, look up "Love is the Message"
I love how one of the bits of the drumkit makes this little sounds coming from the bass inside the room.
Those are the snares (a bunch of metal wires laying across the bottom head) of the snare drum :)
The metal wires wires underneath the snare drum often produce this kind of vibration.
living with a drummer for all my life, i've learned to ignore that.
This is known as sympathetic snare vibration or "buzz". Depending on how the snare drum is tuned, it will vibrate with certain tones and notes that are within its range. Sympathizing with them, in a way.
well..it's part of the music...snare buzz WILL be there, anywhere. you can't ignore it. you kinda embrace it, actually
Why this banger isn't on the album ?
Good question since the album is really short if you look at all those interludes and skits you only have 6 actual songs.
Cause it ain't bum status duh
y’all really did my boy on the bass like that
You know like this drummer. Just wow. I feel so much love watching him. Like this is what he needs to do to be happy. And watching him be happy makes me happy
I think they have overcome thought. Straight from the heart to the fingers, no mind involved.
This IS my fave album of the year..greatness.. and so glad the band signed with Brownswood.
Absolutely loving this!
I've watched this over n over so good
damn this drummer got some funky soul coming out of his face! Respect.
one of my fave albums of 2016 incredible great performance to :-)
wow the drummer is killing it wow that level of playing for such a young musician is insane
Greg C The bass player kills it when he comes in at the beginning as well, Killer licks
he has such a good way of dropping in
Totally agree. So much innovation!

An emotional rollercoaster ❤
Reminds me 4Hero. Amazing!
they're having a good time playing music together, that's part of why it sounds so good!
My goodness.....you all rocked it!

Amazing my goosebumps are raising right now classic
Best album of the year, hands down. So so fucking good and gets better with each listen. Big up.

Idk how many times I’ve listened to this but on my bad days I listen to this and I’m uplifted. Thank you for this incredible piece!
2:15 onwards is literal drum porn. Yussef Dayes is next level.
he looks like he's about to sh1t a weetabix, love it

@@fraserharding6781 you have no taste in music
Gilles bring these lads back together and put them on the road as soon at this virus shit has past. BANGIN'
Yeeeeeee they broke up and were verbally accosting each other in the streets. I'm quite sure that's not going to happen.
Fantastic.
This is insanely awesome, tight groove! Well done!!!
I feel sorry for people suck in one genre. Music is like meeting new people. So much great styles out there. Great song/jam!

copious amounts of babies were made during this section
dilla swag, haaaaats off to the drummer
full of emotions!keep up the good music!
Super talented musicians, I can listen to them all day 💥💥❤
that drumming man
This drummer reminds me of Ian Chang or JD Beck's stuff, all chillin' on the brink of legendary and making it seem like no big deal 🤘
I love it when it's live and there's enough space in there you can hear the bass vibrating the snares.
Everytime I hear it. It's like the the first time!!! Yessss Sir!!
