Loris is the kind of guy who calls his gp on the phone and says it hurts here and actually showing the area.
Jordi has the patience of a saint, especially when Loris used noises to describe how the suspension feels.......
So much insight into pros/Fox’s reasons for setup changes etc.

Why's everyone bashing on loris? He backs his pickyness up woth great results, and riders like him who see potential to improve products are the reason why bikes are so good nowadays and will get even better.

Loris is all about feeling, he's not an analytical rider... but also his "descriptions" really make me try to work out what the ride is like to match the sounds!

Whereas I am a wealth of inexperience and lack of information and usually just say to the bike shop that "it doesn't feel right" lol. They then ask numerous questions most of which I struggle to understand and answer to try to figure out the problem through my shrugs mumbles and glazed eyes lol

Fox's mechanics are so patient. Of course they are here to answer the questions of rider and adjusting the suspension but some riders do not know what they want

I would love to know some more about the suspension techs professional backgrounds - how did they get to the jobs they are currently in? ie motorsport backgrounds, or push bikes through and through?

I've only watched a few of these videos and I think the mechanic guy is really knowledgeable and helpful, if quirky, overworked, and bit distant. I wonder if he hates his job.
Suspension experts, could it be the lower temperature in the morning that increase the damping? Higher viscosity would mean higher damping right?
I really think Loris needs some Rockshox in his life.

Loris should ride with rockshox. They should have a more understanding mechanic working with him. He struggles with English and that’s fine. Rockshox would give him a French speaking mechanic
95% don’t know there Suspension ... in Motor Sport Theres a good way to Handel this prob: the suspension is changed / not changed when the rider is not at the bike/ car ... and get not told what has done to it

Damping gets a bit weaker as the oil heats up of course, but its not a huge difference, not with shim stacks anyway, low speed damping getting a bit faster doesnt make much difference.

How come the riders mechanics can’t do the minor adjustments?
They sometimes do, I mean there are way more riders on Fox than you see in these videos, but some(mainly Loris) prefer Jordi's expertise even for the small changes.

Why the fox does not use a cooler thing in place of the air to solve the problem of temperature oscillation. some call it nitrogen gas.........
I think it's oil temp that effects the damping characteristics not so much an increase in pressure due to the air warming up
Because air is basically 80% nitrogen? So not worth the hassle of lugging around special tanks and compressors.

The problem with normal air isn't the non-nitrogen gasses, it's the water content. Water will act like a volume spacer when liquid, then when the shock warms up, it can evapourate until a pressure increase under load causes it to condense back into a liquid temporarily. If the water changes state from gas to liquid during the stroke, you'll get a sudden ramp. Water can also mess with the oil and how that passes through the damping valves.
@@EmyrDerfel please post a link to your non sense. Pure nitrogen is used because its inert - pressure doesnt vary depending on temperature.

funny how everyone is bashing on loris but you guys know nothing about being professional athletes 😆
it seems way more physiological for these riders and techs seem more like head shrinks. as long as the bike is plush and not bottoming out you would think these riders would be skilled enough to compensate for it's short comings. Jordi should paint some Zoloft to look like Skittles and start passing them out to riders that continue to contradict themselves. as for Loris he just needs to go murder him in the middle of the night.

I'm getting tired of Jordi's bad attitud w/Loris, dude your job is to support the riders, if you feel is to much work, just ask for an extra hands to your people/team, but those cocky eyebrows faces are hurting the content that your brand is trying to build... Just guess who have more sales influence...
Jordi seems more confused and concentrated then having cocky eyebrows. The guy has to somehow figure out what the riders want when they can't fully explain what is happening with their suspension. He has to deal with this at every race that has to be pretty taxing after a while. Loris is fairly demanding and can't explain anything in words but noises and seems to always want something that does not exist. Many people would probably have snapped at him if they had been in Jordi's shoes. Loris has his own mechanic at the syndicate pit so I can only imagine what that guy has to deal with on the regular basis.
@@corail53 The guy is not the only one under stress, pilot are risking their life for results, just chek every helmet cam vídeo, so once again, if Jordi can't deal w/it just ask for support, by the way Loris after a crush, finished 5th in the last race... proper mechanic does matters....
Just the sheer number of human interactions over a weekend must be exhausting in itself. As a technician in a completely different field, I know how tiring it can be helping people with their technology and the careful questioning needed to get to reality. It can be frustrating. I cannot imagine doing it all day like a carnival act without the adrenaline the riders get. And we don't know what Fox wants with staffing there...🤙😃
