To show you what this mic can do, I wrote and recorded a song on the spot using only this mic!
I had a lot of fun with this one! Please don’t mind the lyrics, I couldn’t thinking of anything better than “baby don’t go” and “baby oh please don’t go” haha!
I also finally got to use my Brian May guitar on a track!
I love doing these videos because it shows us how versatile this mic is! It’s a fantastic mic, it’s very well built, and at $399.99 I think it’s incredibly well priced.
In this video I used the LCT 441 Flex to record:
    • Drums
    • Electric Guitar
    • Bass
    • Acoustic Guitar
    • Piano
    • Vocals
    ➡️From lewitt-audio.com
Let us introduce you to the LCT 441 FLEX, our puristic multi-pattern studio microphone. It follows the way paved by the highly acclaimed LCT 440 PURE, putting top-of-the-line technology in a compact housing. Of course, as with any other LEWITT microphone, we had to add that particular twist, … - Well, you know us already. This 1″ true condenser microphone features eight types of directionality to choose from, including three reverse polar patterns that give you higher flexibility and invite to experiment. Comes with shock mount, windscreen, and pop filter.
Use the LCT 441 FLEX to record your vocals, acoustic instruments, guitar amplifiers, drums, percussion, and everything else. Do not hesitate to change your perspective by experimenting with different directivities. Its natural transient response and high dynamic range make sure that nothing will limit your performance on the technical side. Every session with the LCT 441 FLEX will result in vibrant and lively recordings.

That mic has really surprised me. It definitely sounds and feels like a much more expensive mice. Plus it has it's own personality, which I really like. It's got to be those Lewitt made capsules.
I've been using it on the vocals in my new music videos that I'm putting out on Mondays and I've been really happy with the results. Hope you're well!

One of the great things about this mic is that the frequency response doesn't change much in different patterns, so you don't see huge peaks in omni, or figure 8.

  • @oestervig
    @oestervig Před 6 lety +2

Great as always Warren! Have two LCT-440's as well as two LCT-840's... love them... Looking at the frequency response of the 441 it looks like the figure-of-eight has a lift in the 5k area and in cardioid it's more of a lift around 12k - so that probably what you are hearing...

@@Producelikeapro Thank you I appreciate the reply. I'm an acapella singer and have started mixing multiple single tracks or myself singing different parts for a complete harmony. I also record podcasts and audio books for church. Im using a Yamaha MG10xu as the interface and have a Senn E835. ..Based on your videos I decided the most efficient upgrade path to better sound would be the mic at first. So I'm looking at the lewitt (your videos influenced) or similar as my first condenser that I can grow into.was considering that since I had one mic that maybe the 441 might be more flexible if I have different situations. But as with everything one has to evaluate the cost vs actual benefit. . I also appreciate all your videos. My eyes have been opened to a l lot.

I have a challange for you: choose 3000 USD worth equipment in your studio and record a song (drums, bass, guitars & vocals). Equipment could be: mics, pre amps, compressors (and other outboards) audio interface, d.i. boxes, while all instruments, guitar amps and the console mixer (along with studio monitors, headphones etc) and computer with protools are not included in the 3000 dollars but it would be nice if you don't use all the marvelous features of your mixer (or expencive plug-ins from protools) to "cheat" on the challange as the goal is to focus on how to choose equipment that are versatile. Hope you'll read this comment and make this challange. Have a beautiful day, Alberto.

Just noticed I asked the same question. Have you decided which model to pick up? I know sometimes fixed cardioid versions of mics sound a bit better than the multipattern, but I’m new to this mic company.

@@srbh1233 I picked up 440 and though I thought it was a great great sounding mic with lots of character, I didn’t find it to be that “pure”. I wanted a very transparent mic for vocals, so I bought the Røde NT1 (2014) and I’m really happy with it. You could also checkout reviews from Podcastage.

Thanks for the video! What sounds better in cardioid, the LCT441 flex or the LCT440 Pure? The 441 looks like a great as a Swiss Army Knife of mics, but I’m mostly a Singer and Guitar player and as you have said, 98% of the time I’ll be using Cardioid in a less than perfectly treated living room. Thanks in advance!

Hi. So, according to the "Front" sticker (2:07) on the mic, doesn that mean that Lewitt themselves has placed the mic the wrong way in front of the Marshall (3:18) on their website - or is the source supposed to go into the back of this mic? 😆

This mic has several reverse patterns as well, which flips the hot side of the pickup from front to the back.

@@LEWITT-audio hi.. under one of the questions you had said 440 uses a different capsule, how different is it from the one in 441.. is there any significant difference in the electronics as well.. I'm basically looking for a microphone for vocals but if the 441 offers even a slight improvement over the 440 on vocals, I would rather buy it.

I am thinking about just running nthe most efficient mics I can through tubes. I am also looking at the how the smooth Ness factor, I mean a flat what you see is what u get sounding mic, I figure you can add the rest. Nothing to artificially hyped. Nt1a, 2a's, lewitt, nothing more than 12 db self noise. Advance Sir Warren? Musical Knighthood, not that I can confer that honor.

Just wondering what your opinion is on condenser mics on guitar cabs. The studio where my band is recording (because I learned its best to be on the performance side of the desk with this band) uses condensers and the tone is so accurate to the sound from the amp I was really impressed.
Anyway would love to hear some opinions and even suggestions of condensers that work well.

    Hello, thanks 🤩😃..
I also have Lewitt Lct 441 Flex microphone. The sound insulation is not good, it picks up the surrounding sounds, but a large diaphragm microphone, this might be normal, a very chubby sensitive microphone. Is it the same for you? bm800, Zingyou zy-802 poor quality microphones are also sound insulation, but of course Lewitt recording is very high quality ... Lewitt Lct 240 pro sound insulation is good, that is, it records less distant sounds. I am satisfied, but I want to know the details.
Hmm, The Lewitt Lct 441 Flex self voice at my normal room is a not a very strong sound, recording while listening.
Please a answer to my ask, problems.. Thanks 😍
