    --- About this pattern ---
The Double Crochet All The Way Shawl is as simple as possible: it’s completely made out of double crochet stitches. A good project for beginners who want to give their first shawl a try!
I've used Scheepjes Whirl (fingering weight yarn) which gives the shawl a nice drape and beautiful gradient effect. The good thing about this shawl is that you can use any yarn you like!
Yarn: Yarn cake such as Scheepjes WhirlHook size: 4mm / G
For more info, please check out the written pattern on my blog, as it contains a lot more detailed information (such as stitch count overview and tutorials for fringes/tassels).

I've been crafting since my grandmother started teaching me at age 5. I can hold my own , however, at my age now, the computerized world has become a major obstacle in my life. I struggle to find the essential info needed for a simple project. For example: exact type, weight, brand of yarn. The amount needed, the hook sz , Etc! I see so many projects on U Tube that I think I could manage but can't get past the technical computerized block. It's very discouraging & frustrating!
What ever happened to good old fashioned explicit "hard copy"
      instructions?!!!

@dianneclark472 they're still out there. Often these video tutorials will have a written pattern that you use. If you look under the video, you'll see the word 'more' when you click on that, it opens the description box which has a blue click able link which takes you to the written pattern, which can be printed off.
There's a fair few youtubers who do this with their crochet patterns.
Ravelry...is a website that offers written patterns.

I just finished my shawl. I used Scheepjes "Raspberry Rocky Road," beginning with the grey and ending with the pink. I thought the pink would never show up bec. the greys went on forever but it turned out perfect. Even though it was double crochet, I too found it difficult to keep count at first. What I ended up doing was making sure I used a stitch marker at either end so I would know what stitch to put the 3 double crochets into. I also divided up the stitch count onto halves, especially as the rows got bigger. For example , Row 22 is suppose to have 134 stitches. I divided it by 2 and got 67. It is easier to count half of the stitches up to the middle and then the rest of the 67 stitches when you finished the row. I had zero problems after I did this. Hope this has been helpful for those having problems with the stitch count and thanks Wilma for a lovely pattern! :)

This is a scarf, but if you use fingering weight yarn (and crochet hook size 3.5mm or 4mm) + double the amount of stitches, it would make a beautiful wrap! It's a very simple pattern: wilmade.com/awesome-andrea-scarf
