RM doesn't want to follow what society expects from him to be or do. The last girl represents his inner true voice and helps him getting out of all those normal life sceneries and live his life the way he wants to. Red signifies his bonds with friends and loved ones. the blue represents his family ties, and the green evokes memories of his childwood. Each time he opens a door, he confronts doubts about his role in society and his place in relationships. By revisiting his past as a kid, he gains clarity, and as he opens the door in the last shot, he finds inner peace and resolution.

I think it's about not wanting to comply to societal expectations and being his true self, self-acceptance (he always felt as on outsider), finding inner peace and being content in the moment and his journey of self-discovery (his search for finding out wich path he wants to take in life on a professional and a personal level)...

"Come back to me." Could he be talking to himself? You would have to know RM's history to really understand. In "Wildflower" he laments. And just wants a Lovely night. At the last Festa when they announced BTS was taking a break many of us were glad. RM cried as he explained they were all burned out and brain dead. To achieve their success they worked approx. 360 days a year. No days off. Very few holidays off. They worked 7 days a week. Definitely not your normal 40 hour week. So after an recovering from an avalanche of work and sacrificing his body and soul to BTS. Then finally resting. RM looks at himself and pleads "Come back to me." The woman guides him out of different life scenarios he can choose, but he decides to leave to explore other rooms or places until he finds himself. Remember he kept trying to go out that door, but it was always locked. So he experienced pain. Which can turn into divine if you take timeto learn from life's hard challenges. Did RM experience depression? Forgetting to shower and not wanting to wash your face because you don't want to waste your time are classic symptoms of depression! So. The Guide he learns to trust is himself. Then he can learn to trust others to lead him out of those tough life experiences even though they became pleasant. That's not where he wanted to stay. So he finally can open that door to explore new rooms. Open new doors to that wonderful person he has come back to...himself. 😉

The MV is based on THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY BOOK. THe woman he's with at d end was the Librarian, the different situations are based on d endless possibilities of life depending on your choices. Like timelines of your life. He let RM sees his 'life' choices and every outcome.

      Thanks to original poster:
Minha is a librarian in the MV. The house is a library where Namjoon goes door to door from book to book. These each rooms are individual books. Each book takes him to a different environment in a different situation. All these books take him to those times of his life like: childhood with parents, love life, married life, drinking with friends, failure
At the end we see Minha leading him inside what is essentially a bookshelf and Namjoon sees the failures of his own life in the books inside.
Those who have read the book The Midnight Library will understand this whole thing. This is a book that Namjoon has read, liked and recommended. The final scene resembles a bookshelf in the Midnight Library where each book depicts protagonist Nora Seed's regrets.
Nora is a 34-year-old woman with depression who wanted to commit suicide. She passes between life and death. And that place is called midnight library.
We see Joon running from door to door in a corridor. He is given one more chance to go through his penances. The point is, "If I hadn't done that, maybe this wouldn't have happened to me." After reading the books, entering those rooms, Namjoon realizes that nothing more could have been done in this situation than what he did.
He finally realizes that he is the best version of himself and has nothing to regret. That's what we see at the end. Namjoon is getting out of those situations with librarian Minha. Then he came back to his present situation, hanging out with those friends and completely clear minded. This means he has no regrets or regrets.
By "Come back to me " he's calling his own old real self back to Himself and he finds himself back.

Since RM is such an avid reader, there is speculation that the MV might be based on the book "The Midnight Library". Here is an excerpt from the book that describes the premise of the story. After having just read the book (because of this MV) it makes total sense, especially with the maze of locations shown at the end. Here is the quote
“Between life and death there is a library” she said. “And within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices….Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?”
    Thanks for reacting.

The thing about RM is every album is different from the last album or mix tape. The style of this track is closer to MONO than INDIGO. The subject matter is consistant. RM has always struggled with expectations of him and identity. In DO YOU from his first self titled mix tape he clearly states he refuses to be trapped into any one genre. In this mv RM wanders around confused depressed and feeling dissociated from his life. He wanders around through all these different life choices and expectation and is not comfortable in any and he's been like that from a little child. It is not till he finds himself/ other half that he's able to enjoy life and all its possibilities and relationships, even then he cannot stay. He moves on with his other half( plato or Jung?). He breaths a breath of relief and escapes to the light with her and she momentarily has a purple ARMY hue, so that's a double meaning . They find non of it was real. All artificial boxes created for and by someone else. This song is a rejection of expectations. In RMs songs there is always an element of hope at the end. Pain devine RM in conversation with Pharrell Williams discussed judging if lyrics were good enough by how painful they were to write. Pain devine, his musical inspiration .

The MV director is a Korean America named Lee Sung Jin who directed BEEF on Netflix.
Lee Sung Jin said he and RM shared a lot of stories and came upon a story about a man that was stuck in a house with his PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
Doors have always been very symbolic. The door with the three different colored circles could mean PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE . Triptych architecture in history has also had symbolisms for past, present and future or for harmony like life and death, man and woman, Yin and Yang, the moon and the sun with the middle piece being the connection, our enlightenment, a third eye, a doorway to inner happiness. Also the different colors and lighting keep changing and I believe when they finally go through the door the three colors on the door are red, green and blue and I know RM has mentioned RGB before. He's also mentioned multiverses and reading The Midnight Library (many similarities to this MV). The girl throughout and at the end is "him", it's his anima/animus which he manifests to guide him. It was lost and now that he has found it again or it has come back to him he is able to find peace and live his own life without regret.
Right Place, Wrong Person. It is the name of his upcoming album. It's conceptional. The place isn't wrong but he (we) might feel wrong. The conceptual understanding is that we need to find ourselves, our own happiness to feel right wherever we are.
First day of shooting RM hit his head on a camera, cut his eye and he needed stiches.
"You’re always a little nervous when you’re working with these giant global superstars. Are they going to want to rehearse? Are they going to take notes? RM was game for everything. He was there for long hours. First take of the very first scene, he bent down and his head hit the camera and it was a giant gash on his eye and immediately I thought, “Oh great, I’m going to be deported immediately because I’ve just scratched this national treasure.” To his credit, he went to the hospital, got stitched up, came back and he was ready to go. He was so versatile and open to direction and I think he was also pushing me. He would come and check the monitor and be like, “Oh, I think we can get that one a little bit better.” He has an incredible team behind him too." - Lee Sung Jin

Haha. Your face when you said can anyone shed light. Mine too! There are many interpretations, ofc! The one with the most legs is about finding his true self, not being what others expect. The woman at the end is his inner self. He is happy and his world makes sense when he connects to his inner self. Something like that. Also it can mean what you need it to mean.

RM has a whole album coming out this week and (at least?) two more videos! But just so you know, it's considered rude to post reaction videos within 24 hours of a new release. The first 24 are a critical time for the official MV to get as many views as possible. There are reactors and lyrics videos who post right away, but they're seen as selfish and only focused on the views, not respect for the artist. Film your reaction whenever you want, just don't release it until that 24 hours has passed. Love your reactions so I don't want you to get on ARMY's bad side!😅

Three lights like a traffic light didn’t align for green light at first. There was depression or conflict at every life stage. When we saw happiness, togetherness, and family happiness, the light was green. You heard horns as a woman opened a bedroom door. It made me think of creating his family and then it ends showing the entire house, I think it’s all of life. Different rooms, but connected

Also He is tan. I've always been told to stay as wide as possible, but they're all showing their real selves. BTS has really made a difference for the upcoming K-Pop. @Belbecat Před měsícem

Yep, 1 line in Korean. And being RM, he makes it rhyme with English. You're good for picking that up just off first listen. I haven't heard what the intentions were behind the mv, but my interpretation is:
There's a door with the stop lights on it that RM wants to get through, maybe represents that "place" we all want to reach one day we're all just waiting on the red, hoping to get the green light to go ahead. His character goes through all sorts of "life" moments, whether it's just zoning out at a party, being overwhelmed by family or dealing with broken relationships. One day he realises that everyone is the same, and he sees himself in others - and at the end what I take to be representation of "generic man and woman" both walk through the door to the rest of their lives which is just one big maze of all these moments. At the end his character is just enjoying all the moments he was struggling in previously.
So to me, it's just to recognise that everyone has similar thoughts and feelings, and just let yourself go ahead and enjoy every moment because waiting for the green is actually just up to your own decision, not a door that you're waiting to have opened for you. No clue how close I am lol

The MV & song can be interpreted however one would like! It is cool to see so many theories out there & they all fit!
I personally think the song he is singing to himself bc in Fiesta 2022 he expressed having a hard time with knowing who he is, stuck in a rut, etc. I think the female he walks through the door with represents himself “coming back to [himself]” and accepting or coming to terms with things and finding himself (also hence he finally finds her in the maze of choice & different life scenarios).

This is not my summation, as I looked at his video/song as layers of an onion and peeling back all his life's experiences. But here is one that reminded me of the love of his favorite books:
    Credit to owner.

After reading the books, entering those rooms, Namjoon realizes that nothing more could have been done in this situation than what he did.
He finally realizes that he is the best version of himself and has nothing to regret. That's what we see at the end. Namjoon is getting out of those situations with librarian Minha. Then he came back to his present situation, hanging out with those friends and completely clear minded. This means he has no regrets or regrets.
By "Come back to me " he's calling his own old real self back to Himself and he finds himself back.

hi nathan ! i have this theory that namjoon here wants to show how he had been feeling out of the place. starting from with his friends at the party to his family that was shocked to see him home or his past with his lover who was seemingly very frustrated over something he had no idea about. all of this representing that he felt he was the imposter in all. and that is when she found the woman (who he later walks through the door with) who is somewhat like him. the woma represent himself if you see how he first saw himself and later it turned out to be her,. She here (kim minha) is more a like a friend, supporter. he talks with her all day until the sun goes down and faces his own demons (the woman represents himself) and sorts his problems, as you see he feels acknowledged later with his friends and families and makes peace with his past . the door most probably represents his freedom that he attains after having dealt with his own demons.

I heard it is inspired from The Midnight Library the book. So RM is visiting all his memories one by one

The Midnight Library is about undoing regrets by exploring different choices (not memories). It is a good book.

I don't know what the song means but the video gives off fear of intimacy or relationships vibes. It seems like he's running from all of the relationships in the video...until the end. Maybe he's resolved his issues now, or maybe those are my issues🤷🏿😂

As far as the editing i believe actually they didn’t whitewash he face and made him look like his normal skin tone. Which I LOVE! Korean beauty standards is to look who white which can be fine at times but I love seeing the boys normal skin tone…
Also his hair is cut so maybe that is making him look younger…

I glad that he didn't lighten his skin to make them more pleasing to the mass population.
