I taught a version of this dance a long time ago as part of an assessment and I still dance it at any opportunity. Its not as easy at 60 as it was at 20, but still as much fun. Keep going with the Charleston and other dances as long as you can safely do so, for fitness, fun and a good time.
Amen. My Dad was born in 1899 and my Mum in 1906---oh my God---gone are the days. Mum's cousing had a Stutz Bearcat and my Dad, at Harvard (Class of 1921) had a friend with an Auburn Speedster convertible. Tailgating? Raccoon coats and "needle beer" or "bathtub gin". Gone indeed.
