    I was working on a forklift and in a freezer then I took my physical and passed with good bp, good hearing and vision. Then my doc said the government seems to be leaning toward not allowing CDLs past 70. Also he was looking at me weird and asked the same question twice. I wanted to punch him for that but he was looking for high drivers. I only use my class A once in a while and it's mostly out of boredom. But take your tests, get it done. Pass your BP vision hearing and don't be colorblind. You'll be fine. Get er done. I ain't near 70 yet but I know an 80 year old who hauls apples with doubles and he gets along fine. Depends on the driver I suppose.

    I do not know why they still have the wisper test, the DOT got sued over that and a federal judge ruled it was discrimination and they had to approve like 40 deaf people. I hear some truckers have problems with the wisper test and I find it completely useless.

    • @EasyDOTPhysicals
      @EasyDOTPhysicals  Před 2 lety +1

      If a driver doesn’t pass the whisper test they can still pass this exam with specialized hearing testing. The whisper test just makes it easier on the driver by not making them automatically jump through this hoop.

My kneck was measured talked about how i sleep cause im 6”2 280lbs but i sleep like a rock the only thing wakes me up is me drooling😩 lmao. I didnt get my knee nocked on. Didnt do a push and pull test or leg test. I’m hard of hearing & the nurse stood 7ft behind me & whispered under breath.
    She said I failed.
    I stopped the appointment & told her to cancel it.
    At CDL school they will do a clap test..
    I’m getting hearing aids today. I’ll see what they do at the doctor today if she does the same thing I know she is intentionally trying to fail me. Most people are biased against hard of hearing & Deaf driving & she seemed like one of them. Statistics show we are Safer drivers than the average hearing driver due to our natural hyper awareness state. ✌🏽

      Please watch my vision exam video. The FMCSA has very specific standards for vision. If you pass the vision portion of the exam you should not have a problem with a lazy eye. At the end of the day, however, this is all up to the discretion of the doctor performing the exam.

      It depends on the medication and the effects the medication has on you. If your medication makes you tired it can be disqualifying (even if it's legally prescribed). The FMSCA says anything that will make you lose consciousness or cause you to fall asleep is disqualifying. Suboxone if legally prescribed isn't disqualifying but methadone is because of the medication side effects of causing loss of consciousness and hallucinations. Neurontin isn't disqualifying when prescribed legally but it's always good to have a doctor's note saying the patient is tolerating the medications.

Every other test is ok. I function normaly and have no problems outside the medical clinics exept during the tests. Medical examiners are allowed to check the blood pressure up to 3 times. We are ONLY allowed to do the test in the seated position. So a medical examiner may lay you down for 15 minutes and then come into the office, sit you up and check you. Medical examiners are supposed average the 3 checks. So if you get 145/93, 138/89, and 135/88 then the average of all 3 is 139/90. This number should be written down and recorded on the FMCSA paperwork along with the other numbers. While performing a resting blood pressure check the medical examiner should hold the patients arm at heart level to get a more accurate blood pressure reading.

      99% fof the time drivers aren't disqualified from driving forever. Most just need to be checked and treated before we can pass them. It's important to understand that. If you have high blood pressure (HTN) all we need is to know you saw an MD for the HTN (medical note) and have meds (medical note) that work to control it and then you can pass the CDL physical after a re-exam. This can often happen in a just a few days. People act like we stolen their jobs and livelihoods. Not true. In reality, the driver is often times ignoring the serious signs and symptoms of various medical issues. Sleep apnea, diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, kidney disease, etc. We find these issues before there's any serious repercussions.

    Does DOT Physical go into a national registration? If my son did his in Alabama and had to get some extra medical forms done by his physician to return to dot physician but his doctor retired (military) . I guess I am asking should he just start over, get new DOT Physical sense he has new doctor and proceed from there? He had it in December, covid delay,, 😷We now live in Florida and he misplaced the forms the DOT physician gave him 🤔🙄😏. Hope that makes sense, 🙄.

My hand is feeling stronger and stronger after exercising it. I would like to know if it is going to be a problem, so I can inform my Ortho doctor for possible surgery to fix the underlaping. Medical examiners care about your physical ability to perform the job. FMSCA mandates this examination as a fit-to-drive exam. Is the person able to drive? If you are having issues with the shoulder and are having trouble driving a truck, then getting s SPE is the only way to get you back to work. It takes quite months to get the SPE done. So don't be in a hurry. Once it is and you have all the paperwork bring it in to the medical examiner and they can pass you for at least a year.

      Sugar, blood, protein, and specific gravity. If any of this is out of order or doesn't look right it's an instant disqualifier. You will need to be checked and treated before you can pass. Short story: Patient has ALOT OF BLOOD in their urine. I can not pass them and tell them so. Everything else was good and he's 27yo. He goes to MD, MD diagnoses him with UTI, patient comes back taking the meds with the medical note from MD and I passed him for 2 years. He's being treated, he has a note, and retested his urine because I had to do a whole new re-exam and no blood in his urine. PASS

      The FMCSA doesn't recognize any body weight or neck size and doesn't have guidance or regulations on either. You, the driver, are allow to be as old, as fat, as you want to be as long as you are in good medical health. Being morbidly obese has it's downsides and will eventually take it's toll on your body. It's important to understand just because you are obese does not mean you have automatically have sleep apnea and or should be tested. Same goes for neck size. Medical examiners need to know because you have an 18" neck doesn't mean you have any other signs or symptoms of sleep apnea. The FMCSA suggests asking questions and looking for other telltale signs and symptoms before you send someone for sleep apnea testing. There are many sleep apnea companies out there hoping you send patient after patient to their facility to be tested and diagnosed. $$$$$$ I have sent hundreds of drivers for sleep testing and all of them had 5 or more risk factors for sleep apnea. Only about 25% of those drivers (with 5 + risk factors) ever come back having sleep apnea.

      Many things are left in the medical examiners determination and judgement. It's okay to get a qualified ophthalmologist or optometrist to do your eye screening. Bring the paperwork to the medical examiner within 45 days and most of the time the medical examiner can use the paper to pass you for the medical certificate.

This will help you pass....at least for up to a year at a time.
