  • Driving from Athens airport to Patras takes you on a scenic journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Greece. The distance between Athens airport and Patras is approximately 215 km, and the journey takes around 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. As you leave the airport, you'll find yourself driving along Attiki Odos, a modern motorway that connects Athens with the rest of Greece. Follow the signs for Elefsina, which will lead you to the E94 highway towards Corinth.
You'll pass through a series of tunnels and bridges as you wind your way along the coastline, with stunning views of the Saronic Gulf on your left. After about 80 km, you'll reach the city of Corinth, which is known for its impressive archaeological sites and the Corinth Canal. The next part of the journey takes you through the rugged mountains of the Peloponnese, with winding roads and steep drops. You'll pass through small towns and villages, where you can stop for a traditional Greek lunch or to take in the local sights.
As you approach Patras, you'll cross the spectacular Rio-Antirrio bridge, which spans the Gulf of Corinth and is one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world. Finally, you'll arrive in Patras, a vibrant port city that's home to some of Greece's most important cultural sites, including the Roman Odeon and the Castle of Patras. Enjoy!!!!

Brings back happy memories of leaving the airport early one morning and driving up by the Gulf, over the Rion Bridge and to Nafpaktos for breakfast. Onto Missolonghi, Astakos and far away to the Bay of Actium. What a great holiday that was...

So nice, this was my ride when I lived at Aigio, Rodia, in winter 2018./2019 before moved to Pangkrati....I did this trip a few times when I brought my friend to the airport. Efcharisto poly. Kalo pasqua and please more rides, I spent from novembre 2020 until august 2021 several months in several hospitals , Attikon, Genimatas, at Voula I was too...since I cant drive anymore, my left hand has gone and cant walk. You give me back a bit hope. I had a Hymer Fiat Ducato van back in 2018 and the trips were quite expensive, this motorway is beautiful but very expensive for vandwellers. If you have time you can even take the normal road alongside the coastline. You will see a lot.Anyways, its my favourite Highway on planet Earth.

I'm glad to hear that it brought back some good memories for you. I'm sorry to hear about the health issues that you've been facing and I hope that you're doing better now. I appreciate your suggestion to take the normal road alongside the coastline. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me and I wish you all the best. Kalo Pascha (Happy Easter) to you too! 🙏♥️

Hello! Yes, it is possible to travel from Athens to Patras by bus. The distance between Athens and Patras is around 215 kilometers, and there are several bus companies that operate this route. One well-known bus company that operates this route is KTEL. KTEL is a Greek intercity bus service that connects various cities and towns in Greece, including Athens and Patras. They have regular bus services between these two cities. To find the most up-to-date information about schedules, fares, and to book tickets, I recommend visiting the official website of KTEL eticket.ktelachaias.gr/en/ Have a great day and safe travels!
