Glad all is going well with the knee surgery. I am about a quarter of the way on Powerless. I am really enjoying the storyline. I have read a trilogy by Nora Robert’s and this book reminds me of it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Lovely to see you looking so well. Xx

Hi Julia, so glad you're doing so well. I am your 17th like after you've been up only about 8 minutes. Great to see Eric helping you and to see Luna looking after her Mommie. I had surgery on my leg 25 years ago at Maryland Shock Trauma after a bad accident and Benadryl rescued me from Percocet. I was immediately diagnosed by a great nurse too. That was when I found out about that allergy. Although I had a different injury than you do, they did a great job and have made so much progress since that I have no doubt that you can expect a complete recovery. Thanks for the update and I'm looking forward to your next. Everyone loves you.

When i broke my shoulder in 2 places back in 2001 , my husband got some hours per day off to look after me
Until i could start moving a bit more my self .Happy Reading. I need to get back in to reading books again , i bought a few last year. But just could bring my self to start reading them .

OMG Julia! I am so happy the reaction to antibiotic was remedied before it could get any worse and your surgery went smoothly! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I also tend to read faster and more comfortably on my Kindle, but it's because I can adjust the font and background color! I usually like to read in dark mode! I hate when physical books have a small font, gives me headaches! I also like that I dont need a reading lamp or a bookmark with Kindle!😊
I hate when books have small font too 😑 but thank you I am so happy everything worked out with my surgery!
Glad your surgery was a success and sorry about your allergic reaction to the anesthesia. My dad threw up during the anesthesia when he had a colonoscopy. Twice it happened to him actually. All depends on what they use everyone has different reactions to it. Glad you're doing better and hope you can be back in the air soon!

So happy to hear Julia! We are grateful too! Aww I knew Luna would stay by your side. Doggies definitely have that sixth sense and your special girl is no exception. Sorry for the nasty reaction. I'm allergic to penicillin, and when we found out that little detail..back when I was around 5...it was rather scary. Hey you read my mind (again)...here I am thinking hmm, did they get any snow from that weekend storm, and just then you showed the pretty scenes! Just rain out this way *wah wah* (I"ve been staying with my other brother in NJ). We had some major winds the other night, with more heavy rain, and go figure...another round coming tomorrow night. Lots of flooding across the state but none near us. Take care Julia!

Hang in there Julia. No surgery goes exactly like you hope it will. Fair skinned people are much more sensitive to antibiotics. Just do not rush your rehab. Active people like yourself feel the need to get back at it and you just have to resist that feeling. All the best and Happy New Year to you and Eric.
Forget the knee surgery part, you would never would have gotten me in the MRI. Hope u feel better!

Glad your surgery went well Julia. Make sure you keep note of allergy to Vanco as you have to be your own advocate in healthcare these days. I too bad a bad reaction a powerful antibiotic once. When you get better, I'm sure Lula would like a late Xmas prezzy called a Kong branded soft rubber frisbee. My doggy new favorite toy in the snow. Be careful on winter icy sidewalks too.

Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Could you maybe explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

I am wildly allergic to chlorhexidiene. I am generally not sensitive to those things. I hope you didn't react to it. Speedy recovery!
Great to hear you had a successful surgery. Surprised that you are okay to bend your knee and apply weight especially for a meniscus tear. I was non weight bearing and restricted from bending my knee to allow the repair to heal from my meniscus repair and ACLr.
ACL is much more intense than meniscus!!
Yup. He didn’t find out about the meniscus tear until my ortho saw it on the scope. So he changed my restrictions to non weight bearing because of the location of the meniscus tear.

I had two knee surgeries one in 2019 and the other one was a day before Halloween

I’m currently on a hospital stay after having full knee replacement surgery yesterday. I’ll find if this is a one night or two night stay, then it’s off to doing recovery and rehab at home.
Powerless sounds really good. I’m a huge Harry Pootter fan and I enjoyed The Hunger Ganes. Might need to check it out.

Fun fact- red man syndrome isn't an allergy per say. The next time you get vancomycin you just have the antibiotic infused at a slower rate.

Pre-surgery has always given me the special soap. I don’t buy it.
The funny that I always laugh at is that the night before, they tell you to use clean sheets and “jammies.”
