New Orleans high school senior J’Adore Linzsey discusses how she balances going to class during the week and building homes on the weekend, and her goals to seek further education using her newly-acquired skills. I love this story! I tip my hat to him for starting this program. ❤ I hope it spreads to more states ❤
Why am I sitting here smiling from ear to ear 😊I love this!!! We need more of this in Education!! Huge shout out to the founder, the students and everyone involved!
This is great and should be part of the regular highschool curriculum!
What an amazing idea and opportunity for the teens. More cities need something like this. There is a shortage of skilled labor in construction.
Aww!! I LOVE THAT!! 💐 Thank you for inspiring young people and adults !
Such an inspiring story and beautiful vision to empower our young leaders. Thank you for your heart and servant leadership.
How do we model this program across the country and use to build affordable housing for young families? This is awesome!
THATS MY BEST FRIEND😝. I’m so proud of her.🤍🤍🤍
Brilliant, just Brilliant, and the young lady, you go, girl. Skies the limit!
This is a super cool ingenious idea. I wish they had a program like this when I was in school. I love this for the kids and the community. Thank you for inspiring me. ❤

J'adore I wish you the very best when you go to the Cleveland Institute of art. Keep your mind wide open, it's going to challenge you from all directions. It is very exciting to have that lifelong experience in carpentry and don't stop there. I'm very proud that you are going to include rebuilding houses and learning architecture. keep your eyes on the prize girl.🎉❤
Amazing and wonderful idea for kids.
Awesome! They do need PPE though.
Love it. That’s fantastic. Let’s do it in Australia too
A construction job should help pay down $100,000 in debt for college.
No Need the next Democrat President will arbitrarily say no need to pay back those student loans because that is how you will have money for the next kid to go to school right?
@@andrewsimckes5748 Democrats push for that kinda thing so people can actually afford to go to college
@@andrewsimckes5748 And you'll be paying for it in your taxes.
This needs to go nationwide. Worldwide after that. Maybe the lower labor could be offset to come actual affordable housing. Win win win
I would love to follow her story!! I’m 50+ and she motivates me!!
Wishing her good luck 👍🏽
Does uncommon construction teach them how to use tools properly? Jadore using that table saw was so unsafe. Also, why aren’t they using gloves?
also, no safety glasses or hearing protection
I noticed that too. Yikes! But cool project.
@@StormyEagleKnightI did see safety glasses but no hearing protection or gloves. I could time stamp if you want.
i saw a few safety glasses, but not consistent for a construction site, especially when using power tools
Safety glasses gloves n face shields trust me the way he said we pay well above minimum wage 😂 tells me he can definitely afford to provide them
Marvellous ! 😍😍😍
Lord protect this Gentleman, Uncommon Construction & his wonderful mindset in helping others & humanity, thrive @ its best,
that no weapon/s formed against him & all he does will prosper but Uncommon Construction, continues to prosper.
Lord Willing, Amen 🙏
(cuz WE all know their are those who do not like humanity @ its best, sad individuals)
I wish you the best of everything.
They need more programs like this around the country. It's sad that they don't even have shop classes at most schools anymore. I'm only 34 and I sound like an old man, but all kids do today is play video games and wanna be CZcams stars... Tradesmen are going to be making bank in the coming years since nobody wants to do manual labor. People tend to like running water, electricity, air conditioning and a roof over their head.
Great idea!
LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤
Super ! ! !
Selfless Deed... Making A Tremendous Difference ✝️🙏🏿😊👷🏿♀️🫂
If she can't find work in her field she can always do construction work.
Yes! This Is Amazing.
J'Adore has the perfect mindset and attitude to fit into architecture and interior design! She's going to do wonderfully 💖🍀
Design is fun!
Of buildings and their interiors. Landscape Architecture can combine a love of geology, botany, and human deeign.. structural and civil, geo and bio engineering are maybe the pinacle of STEM in structural, science, and, math, among the many other Engineering fields.
Architecture/Interior/Landscape Architecture all need to know what the engineers do, as well as design theory, client interests, bidding and contracts, coordination of the various engineers to field contractors, and construction managers, ergonomics, with building and ADA and civil codes implemented into the designs. Even with all of the rules and guidelines there is loads of room for creativity and inspiration. It is very much a human service industry, as much as it is a technical field. It is beautiful that it can also be a medium of artistic expression.
There are so many opportunities that a highschool oreinted trades program like this opens for these students within the whole industry of building development
💙 Great work!
Amen
She almost cut her arm off😂
NOOO!!! Hold the material with your right hand, and use the chop saw with your left hand❤ 1:50 otherwise you're going to chop your wrist one of these days young lady.
So the guy says the students ARE being paid "above minimum wage" but I'd love to hear how that rate compares to the area's average rate for carpentry apprentices, which they effectively are.
Wait what? The program is preparing them for college?
Society, a decade ago: "The future of jobs is tech jobs. Teach your kids programming skills. Everyone will have STEM tech jobs, going into the future."
Me, then: "I don't think so. As populations grow, so does the need for hands-on trade work. Also, tech jobs will become more and more automated. Oh, and younger generations don't have the focus to learn complex STEM skills much anymore. A lot of ADHD and too many distractions around."
~
Society, now: "Oh, no! Nobody wants to pay for pricy college anymore! AI is eventually going to reduce the workforce in the tech industry! Kids don't have the attention span for learning STEM education anymore!"
Me, now: "See?"
I wonder what interest the Walton (Wal-Mart) family would have in promoting child labor .... 🤔
This is a horrible abuse of students time. Why not just pay them for the work . Capitalism is disgusting.
If they're not being paid, it's not capitalism. In this case, they are being paid.
Not only are they being paid, they're being paid above minimum wage. I know that because I watched the whole video before making judgments.
I love that be yourself
