the length of track, from 37:17-38:33 we played on when we were kids. LL Cool J's grandmother & wife lived on the right side (Brinkerhoff) We put rock on the tracks and loved to hear the train crush them. I got one serious ass whiping when my mother seen us throwing rocks at the train!!! Thanks alot for bringing that memory back to my mind. Queens Born and raised! Im in Philly now though!
Now that the 3rd track on mainline is almost complete it’s time to electrify the Central Branch so Babylon M7/M9 trains can be rerouted to the mainline if needed.
I gotta ask. When the M3's finally go away, as they undoubtedly will, what will fill the RFW videos "hole"? The entire front of the M7's is closed off; there ain't no window. Unfortunate and sad.
Yet SEPTA is adopting the RFW for the Philadelphia area. They now have it on the Market-Frankford Subway/Elevated Line as well as the Silverliner V cars on Regional Rail.
The cab door on the M7 has a shade to block the glass, sometimes if you're lucky they forget to pull up the shade and you can get a view out to the front.
I will always love these videos. Been fascinated w/ trains & railroading since I was 5 yrs old. I can't imagine ever having to commute to the city every day for 40 years. I thank God I never had to. It is painful knowing that so many have no choice but to ride this horrid system of an out dated railway each day.
i know im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my login password. I love any tricks you can give me!
@Devin Lyle thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Excellent video. But I gotta tell you, that train seems to be just poking along on straight track that seems to beg for faster speed. I didn't see any yellow, diamond-shaped speed signs. What is the maximum speed on that track?
@@NYCTARailfan - They should have sent the express first, and then sent the local as soon as it got an "approach" signal. The local would have gotten "clear" signals all the way in after the 1st or 2nd station.
Some look like they are, but most are original PRR signals. (PRR had control of LIRR from 1900-1949). Which explains why there are PRR signals. even new ones that still look like them.

27:35 HI KING KULLEN!!! I am so homesick 😍
Please engage the safety on your guns until you have exited Jamaica Station.
I miss hearing the train horns it's so Kool
Thanks for sharing, that was enjoyable to watch, especially since it ran express.
Glad you enjoyed it

Yeah because the scenery is so awesome.
No. Because I'm a railman AND a self-exiled New Yorker AND it's nice to go back and visit even if it's by video.

@Devin Lyle It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out :D
@Iker Oliver you are welcome xD
The Babylon line motormen are the world's greatest guys ever
To me this is what I loved to see and do when I lived up there
I miss riding the Babylon train to and from massapequa
That ride was pretty cool.
It's like hardly moving. Cars are going by faster.
It's The Long Island Railroad . . . DUHHH !
Or was it “super express” where you ran direct to Jamaica?
this was an express train to Jamaica because it was for people connecting from the Speonk Diesel train
So what to the ringing bell mean?
What kind of cam are you using it is very clear
It's the camera on ma cell phone

Cats01 we were following the local train that left Babylon about 8 minutes before us
That explains it. Thanks.
Was going to ask the same question but you answered it..

BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!!
What stations were stopped at
What's with the Bell?
Signal restrictions, acknowledge button or lever, and regularly the doors closings
half of the wantagh station is complete on the east side, west side is not.
Can anyone tell me the reason why it’s going so freaking slow on a perfectly straight track?
the local train was in front of us
NYCTA Railfan Sadly there’s no dedicated express track, not even multiple tracks in station to overtake.
Are these all new signals?

I spy an M3...
Would it be possible to to this on the new M-9s?
The M9s don't have front windows that passengers can access
El tren iba ha ir a babylon
Notice all the men standing around watching the train go by paid with our tax dollars and increasing Train Fares. They all Love New York.
It’s an FRA rule to step out off the tracks and acknowledge the train as it goes by… Hater
I'd rather see Riverhead to Greenport than this.
i would love to have a railfan window out there
