@Kian Hello Kian, I appreciate your question! I asked an instructor and was told that at the writing of this comment (01/07/2021) the waiting is not more than 7 days for applications submitted physically (because they can also be submitted online by applicants @ www.licenzji-xufiera.gov.mt ). However, the holiday we had during this week might have made that longer. From my previous experience, there could also be other reasons why a permit takes longer to be issued; like mistakes on the application or a particular medical condition that is written on the application, or if you recently changed address, etc... I'm not implying any of the above towards you. I'm just listing what the reasons might be, for other people reading the comments too. Best would be to contact TM and enquire about the progress of your application. I hope the above answered your question?

You are most welcome 😊 According to the law (and up to the writing of this comment), there is no minimum amount of lessons required in Malta. Hopefully, in the near future I will be doing a video about this, explaining in detail how many lessons an individual needs to obtain a driving licence. Just to give a brief & quick answer... not everyone requires the same amount of lessons because it relies on several factors, like previous experience, individual character, etc... Further explanation about the factors in play in the future video 😁

Hello, I believe that till this point the test can only be done in Maltese & English.
However, there might be a translator service for Arabic, which I am not sure about. To get more info & clarification about this, the best would be to contact, either the official test centre on 21227190, or Transport Malta.

@Emil Olsen Hello Emil, regarding waiting time I have been told that at the writing of this comment, it's about 4 to 6 weeks from day of test application posting. As regards to questions before the test, yes there might be questions which are related to Vehicle Road Worthiness. In my opinion, even if there isn't, it is always vital to know them so you will be able to know how to check that your car is roadworthy for your own safety and the ones around you, because as a driver you are the one responsible for the roadworthiness of the vehicle you are driving (even if it's not your vehicle)

@dopeturtle69 It's sam Hello & thanks for your question. I believe you can, by applying @ Transport Malta for an international permit for 1 year maximum (I believe). But to make sure that this is ok I also suggest that you ask the authority of the country you intend to go to.

Hello C T, thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, you would have to do the test. I'm sorry to give you this news. My advice would be to not just go after pricing, as it might cost you much more in the long run. I would go for a school that provides quality service. Usually you can get an idea of the quality from the way they communicate with you for pricing requests. The pricing also depends on every individual, as everyone has different requirements when it comes to learning to drive. As regards to driving jobs I believe it is possible, but I cannot tell you for sure as I'm not well informed and knowledgeable on the subject of jobs. It also depends which country you will be coming from as there might be different documentation requirements to work in Malta. Sorry that I cannot be of much help about jobs 😔

If yes from which country was it issued & what category is it? And is it just a truck licence you need or do you need to also pull a trailer? I have two UAE driving license 1.Motorbike and 2.Light vehicles so could I exchange license or do I need to take license with proper training? I saw on Malta transport website there is written UAE holder license can exchange but one my friend said this option is not for foreigners who lived in UAE, only UAE nationals could exchange license. So can you confirm from Malta transport authorities foreigners from third world country who used live in UAE could exchange license or need to take full training.. I read briefly through the law (which you can download from here - theorytestmalta.com/hrf_faq/where-can-i-view-the-driving-licence-regulations-law-of-malta/ ) and from my brief look I didn't find any information where it says that you have to be also a UAE national to exchange it to a Maltese one. It only says that you can exchange a UAE licence without any testing procedures (mutual recognition). You can find this information on page 76 (Schedule Fourteen) on that download link. I also believe that to be able to exchange your UAE license to a Maltese one you need to be a resident in Malta (with a residence card) for at least 185 days. You can find this information at the beginning of the linked document above or search the sentence 'normal residence'. More than that, the best would be to send an email to Transport Malta on their main email you find on their website, because like so you will have the information directly from them in writing. If your driving licence is one from Qatar you can drive in Malta with an international permit for one year, then you would have to do the licence procedure as explained in this video you made a comment on. I suggest starting the process 6 months before the one years is due so you would have enough time to obtain the driving license of Malta and then continue driving after the one year. @Mohd tariq Professional driver I am happy that the videos were helpful and I thank you for the nice feedback 😊 The following information is both for someone entering Malta with a work permit or holiday. It doesn't make a difference. From the countries you mentioned, until the writing of this comment, you cannot exchange a driving licence. You would have to do the theory and practical test. However, from those countries you can drive up to 1 year from date of entry in Malta, and then you would need to do the procedure mentioned in this video. Please check the law exactly about the one year driving, as the law is more accurate than what I'm saying. You can find a link to the law in the description.

Hello 👋 I'm sorry to give you this answer, but unfortunately that is not possible, as according to the law, in order to be able to obtain a driving license in Malta as an EU citizen coming from another EU country, you require to be a resident in Malta with a residence permit for at least 6 months. I believe that this is also a European law, so it would also apply to other EU countries, however I am not 100% sure about this.

@@DriveTravelLive going by the rates of my local driving school, the entire package necessary for aquiring a license costs 2.571 euro. That includes 4 "maneuvering" lessons, 16 driving lessons, 4 "technical driving facility" lessons, 29 lessons of theory, medical assesment, first aid certificate, photography for the license, and a testing fee. One lesson is 45 minutes and additional lessons cost 73 Euros. 25% of total cost is a VAT. It may not be exactly average but those prices are in the ballpark.
