    LYRICS:
I wandered again to my home in the mountains
Where in youth's early dawn I was happy and free
I looked for my friends, but I never could find them
I found they were all rank strangers to me.
Everybody I met (everybody I met)
Seemed to be a rank stranger (seemed to be a rank stranger)
No mother nor dad (no mother or dad)
Not a friend could I see (not a friend could I see)
They knew not my name (they knew not my name)
And I knew not their faces (and I knew not their faces)
I found they were all (I found they were all)
Rank strangers to me. (rank strangers to me.)
"They've all moved away," said the voice of a stranger
"To a beautiful land by the bright crystal sea"
Some beautiful day I'll meet 'em in heaven
Where no one will be a stranger to me.
(rank strangers to me.)...

I love ralph Stanley. I had the privilege many of years ago when he done a tour in Pennsylvania to be the one who fixed the major electrical issues he had on stage. My father grew up with him. I was the only person who was able to keep the show going. Proud yes some electrical tap and wires his performance went on. That will be a evening I'll never forget. Love you Mr. Stanley

Amazing that even here when he was less than 100% Ralph was still the best singer of the bunch. Like he always said, it's not something you can learn, you're either born with it or not. I do like the lead singing of Ralph II. They really sounded great together. In fact I think this version may rival the original.

Ralph Stanley 2 (in the Red) really stands out in this rendition. I love that he has such a different sound than his dad's. You can definitely tell that many of the greats that performed along side his dad have influenced his style/sound. He doesnt sound like this in every song. He has great range but I like him best when he is singing in his lower register. It sounds as if he is channeling his inner Keith Whitley when he does. I love it!

Be strong in the faith. For the place we go to there will only be tears of joy..no more pain..no more suffering, the toils of this Earthly walk will have given way to seeing our saviour on his throne. It is my faith that our father will build a new place called Heaven and that the physics and diseases that were put upon this Earth by Satan will no longer exist. My mind cannot comprehend the bliss. Be strong in faith. Take care

And, actually, Ralph Stanley in the unusual role of a backup singer, was a treat and with simple humility he did this and did a marvelous job of it. The stress on that lead vocal is felt. Beautiful tho. Coodos to that guy under that pressure ...wow. Amazing.
