I heard that Japanese parents make these as lunch for school for their kids. How the hell do they actually do that? This must take a few solid hours every morning!! Kudos.

Japanese moms are like gods, they can make a solid kyāraben in 30 minutes, they use leftovers from breakfast or dinner from the night before though

When I did a home stay, my host grandma only took an hour to make two bentos AND make breakfast for four people which btw, was a literal full course meal.
Then again, she didn’t do a kyrabento. At most, she decorated with cupcake liners. I think it depends on how simple or detailed you make it

I've always heard they were made from leftovers and often wondered why all of them were so adorable when looking up how to make authentic Japanese bento boxes. I forgot the term, but it's something I wanted to start doing mostly for my hubby. (out of love)

@@alize0623 you realize little things and having support from parents and such can really help depression right? Obviously having a packed lunch wont solve problems but these things help. I personally make food art one of my coping methods after my psychologist recommended it.
