It breaks my heart Glass disowned his soundtrack to Candyman, he cited his disappointment in that he felt it was just another hollywood horror film. I disagree, Candyman was an exceptionally shot and original horror film that had many subtle commentaries about American racism and the failure of the Cabrini Green housing project. Glass should feel proud of the soundtrack he did for the film, it created a very unique and disturbing if not gothic atmosphere.
@@patrickgogan3517 i saw it at 5. My brother went to the army and left me his old vhs stash with this movie in it...... I was never the same after watching lol
Phillip Glass' score really was the cherry on this spooky cake of a movie. It added such a unique atmosphere. Between the cinematography, the modern gothic architecture, this unforgettable eerie score and Tony Todd's performance made this movie a horror classic of the modern era and Candyman one of the most iconic Boogeymen in cinema right up there with the greats
This track is awesome... It makes you feel how big and spooky Cabrini is... As if it was a character itself in the film. The view of the camera from the sky... like watching an ant colony... And this moment in the track where you feel like being trapped in a never ending loop... 👍🏻
1992 Candyman's soundtrack has so much personality where, though I like the movie, I feel 2021 Candyman's soundtrack just feels like a generic horror movie soundtrack
Tried watching candyman years ago and quit because the mirror scene scared the daylights out of me. I’ll have to give it another go because this music is fantastic.
There is another Candyman happening. I think it's gonna be like Halloween 2018, where it's a sequel to the original movie but it negates the sequels. The main character is the infant from the original movie all grown up, Tony Todd is returning as Candyman, the mother returns, and maybe a few other characters. All of this is in Jordan Peele's capable hands, so I'm on board

I didn't know that. He's totally wrong on that, I don't care if he's the composer. :D Jesus. The opening credits alone scare me shitless.
@@SCharlesDennicon agreed very effectively frightening birds eye with accompanying horror theme saw it at age 7 was messed up for years lmao

Wait he hates his themes but reused it for Haven how odd
Definitely NOT another Hollywood horror film. This had a very decent backstory to it
What a truly beautiful and haunting soundtrack! It makes the movie!

*CANDYMAN* is so popular in our culture he has become an Urban legend even if you've never seen candyman you've most likely tried the mirror trick

This music alone sends shivers down my spine
In a good way, I hope!!!
Helen's Theme/It Was Always You, Helen gets all the fanfare...and rightfully so...but this was always my favorite piece from this soundtrack.
Helen’s theme is eerie but this is just awe-inspiring.

Seriously?...I thought the new soundtrack was awesome...not as good as the OG for sure....but still good in it's own way.
@@thakingofdetroit Maybe I should give it another chance now that it's been a few months
@@IsaiahJM I'd definitely give it another listen ....the way he put his spin on Helen's Theme is 👌🏾

Remake 2021
Finally!!! it's back up
thank you
The only reason why Philip glass disowned his soundtrack is because the movie was so brutal
La genialità delle partiture del Maestro Philip Glass .
This music is so scary really good
Here's something I noticed about the choir. Sounds a lot like echoing voices you hear in the hallways I the hood. Sit with that in mind.
Just put it together that this is the same composer who did the circles song on Sesame Street. That song haunted me when I was little.
Thanks For Sharing Because I Never Heard Of It...
nice
Am I insane for thinking the first 10 seconds sound like an orchestral version of the James Bond theme
