You certainly made a valid point. The Competition package isn’t worth the premium for those who intend on modifying their cars.
Exactly! That's just my thoughts behind it
Comp Pack is a must for me. Those M666 Wheels are the best BMW Wheels of all time 😍
Absolutely. BMW make the best designed wheels. No contest there
I test drove both (comp/base) before buying .. I chose the base because it was a smoother ride, (comfort setting) comp has stiffer suspension and 20 inch wheel which made for a rough ride,, I don’t track or plan too, just wanted a cool daily driver ..These stock M3s and M4s are pretty fast out the box
Good edits bro, the intros are always the best
Thanks this video helped me with my decision so much, as i intend to modify it alot so i was worried id be essentially wasting money going the competition route 🙏
I have the comp, if I wanna lower should I get lowering springs cuz it has the comp adaptive suspension. Or get coil overs
Your car stance is on point 👌🏾👌🏾. I had my car code to CS specs, definitely worth it.
thanks man! I might have to do the same, starting to itch for more
Thor app?
@@user-zb6ez4jl3u No, I did Cs steering and GTS Dct coding at EAS for about $200. Total worth it.
Is that a different m4?? How may m4s have you had?? And what type of rims are those?
Really enjoyed this video talking sense as always 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
Yessssirrrrr I see you bro 🙏🏽
I believe with the seat you can get some harness’s for the holes in the seats
Beautiful F82 you got there. Fitment is on point. I opted for a 2018 F80 Comp because of the Executive package for the headlights 😅. The car is Azurite Black with Golden Brown Interior so it’s also an individual.
thank you! Oh wow, I LOVE Azurite Black. And with golden brown interior that must be one absolutely stunning spec. Good work on that
@@SimplyCarThings thank you!
I went with the comp but had the dealer swap for the regular 437m wheels... no mods but STOCK the ZCP sounds wayyyy better than the non-zcp.. wouldn't go back.. happy wh ZCP
what is your wheel and tire set
Nice vid brotha!
thanks bro!
test drove the m4 vs the m4 comp the non comp was better for daily driving the suspension wasnt as harsh if your gonna get the car as a daily get the non comp but if its a weekend car like track days and canyon runs definitely get the comp
Makes a lot of sense! I opted for a non comp as well since i knew id be modding this car heavily lol
One tip for those who worried about crankhub, just paddle shift down instead of letting thecar kicking two gears down by itself
Wouldn’t it be the same? Doesn’t it matter about how high you get in the rpm’s as the extreme vibration is what causes bolt to get loose? I always wondered if racing is it safe to go to redline
That would be me Ommar. The Competition would take care of my needs. You know how I do it. Look good first, with the Competition package as a pirk. And I still want to drop the top 😆😆. Cali Baby, can't help myself😆🦾🦾
What about if my options are a comp 2017 or a regular m3 but 2018 (lci facelift)… ??? Opinions?
LCI all day
The competition seats have adjustable bolstering
I MISS YOUR N54
Have you upgraded the crank hub yet?
Not yet
@@SimplyCarThings Would you suggest upgrading it in order to add stage 1 tune? I am running stock for now. 18’ M4 comp
Agree with you. I purchased a non comp model and then ripped into the mods.
You can do the same with the Comp 😁🤘💯
@@Top_g80comp why bother with the comp though unless you're gonna keep it stock. No reason to spend extra on components you're gonna swap out anyways yah mean. Think his consensus is right tbh
Tuned mine with stage 1 and after 600miles on a 6000mile car it spun the stupid crank hub! Will do vargas ch in some days
Damn! Sorry to hear that man, hope you get it back up and running soon
@@SimplyCarThings thanks man! Yup installing vargas ch in the next days
I think the m2c is the ultimate drivers car. M3 with shorter wheelbase.
I agree. I just prefer the looks of the M4, and you can get pretty much all the performance on/off track for a much less price
@@SimplyCarThings I would never buy a bmw for the track unless it’s like m4 gts. They awesome for daily driver but if you get for track then I would choose a different, more lighter car. Also shoutout to rob from speedlogic. For the price I guess unless it’s pre 2016 then crankhub is a must.
@@Mogadypopz You should try tracking it, you don’t need a GTS honestly. Even a base M4 is extremely capable and fast on track you’d be very surprised
Same 0-62 as the g80 comp with a lot more horsepower 🤔?….hmmm
what about M2 Comp vs M4 Comp? if both were the same price
I think M4 Comp is better if daily because it has adaptive dampers, more luxury options, more leg room. Or better yet, F80 M3 Comp instead of M2 Comp if getting for daily.
But if making a track car, M2 Comp is better for shorter wheelbase, better brakes, and no EDC dampers so easier to change out to coilovers.
@@usernamealreadytaken770 Thank you for reply!
M3 or 4 over an M2.. simply because of the value for money you get from the entire roof coming standard in carbon fibre
So yes 😂
I’d never even consider the m4 without the comp pack, and I’m planning on modding it a lot. Without the comp you’re just spinning wheels, the comp m4 actually puts the power down and sounds better.
Not true, if you have an LCI model (2017 & Up) the traction control, EDC, and steering were all updated to the same software whether its a base or comp model. Comp does have some slight hardware changes to suspension which actually make it handle a little better on the track
@@SolarMotorsport can you replicate those suspension changes bmw implemented on the comp models to the base ones?
@@LegendInThaMakin I can't see why not but it would probably make more sense to just buy a set of quality coil-overs at that point and make it better than a comp suspension for tracking but If we're talking 2017 & Up the biggest advantages of the Comp package out the box are the black trimmings and the ZCP exhaust
@@SolarMotorsport but then wouldn’t have even better handling if you put coilvers on a comp pack m4?
The modding reasoning doesn’t make any sense to me. They say if you wanna mod just start with the base m4. Wouldn’t it be even better to mod a comp m4 because everything starts off better with a comp m4 anyway?
@@LegendInThaMakin comp has stiffer sway bars and shorter spring rate, coilovers would have shorter spring rate and the base F8x sway bars are more than enough as the car is very balanced out the box but yes the comp sway bar would be the main advantage over the base if you were to get just coil-overs. Basically modifying a base M4 with just a simple tune and coilovers would make it far better than a stock comp f8x but doing the same mods to a comp will still make it slightly better than a base model so you are definitely correct in that aspect
Comp package worth it
I heard subframe also diffident on competition package
really? Ill look into that, i wonder what the difference would be
I gave a 1k deposit to the local dealership in Los ANGELES county for the new style BMW G82 M4 Comp because it doesn’t look like the previous models of BMW. The new style is my preference since I was never a BMW fan and I wanted something bold n different.
The new style sucks tbh if you’re a classic bmw fan…looks like a whole different car
@@yg78t76t7 true 😢
Not too me I sold my m4 comp and got a m440 grand coupe
oof why did you get a 440?
@@SimplyCarThings I got 440i grand coupe it’s the perfect daily driver. My M4 competition was just too much for the street too hardcore I didn’t really go to the track I thought it was waste of extra money. And the s55 motor doesn’t sound very good even with m performance exhaust. The B58 motor sounds a lot better stock to me. Really didn’t think I would like the 440i but I do a lot. Weird how that works. I also have 2018 m550i with low miles about 12k wanna do a resonator delete on it. I think it will pretty awesome with that mod. Thanks for replying. Really like your channel.
@@SimplyCarThings the 440i also has m performance package and power upgrade from BMW.
@@SimplyCarThings it’s 2018 model CPO car.
The comp pack is worth it it’s only £3.5 k
Over standard it’s an no brainier
asking to smash like before video ever started ? kinda wierddddddd. #NPC
An M4 is not a car to daily...
i dont daily mine. but you can easily daily one lol and many people do
@@SimplyCarThings u can but its stupid ur only lowering the resale value nd wasting gas
I bought an m3 to use it. I don’t care about resale value and I’m not gonna keep in garage and not taking out to be good for the next owner. If I want I drive it daily
@@Doki740 yup ppl say that all the time, then next thing you know they need the money real bad for an unexpected financial situation n get nothing for there car
@@BmwMe-uh9syit you're not going to daily it you're probably better off getting a more dedicated sports car like a Cayman. But yes as a daily this car would be annoying with the droning engine sound at low speeds and harsh suspension.
