Never understood the hate for this game, I loved it.
It was trash
Oh thank for like . Yoy are true AC fan
In that one, they made a horrible decision for the modern world story and since have no idea of what to do with it. The story starts really slowly and suffers from pacing issues compared to its predecessors. The gameplay was refined though. The parkour was improved, the combat was made a lot simpler(too simple maybe. They changed it again in unity and going forward on Dark Souls like combat). I like this game but its really not great
I loved this game
Story felt pretty dumb at the end.... As for world and side quests I loved those
Game had the worst ending in the franchise. Completely turned a lot of people off who were interested in the modern-day storyline.
This Game Has An Amazing Soundtrack
So do the others in all fairness.
So true. Back in 2012 on PS3, I would b just on main menu listening to that epic soudntrack. Lol. Nvr understood the hate it got. The frontier & wilderness was so fun to explore. And Connor with his tomahawk combat style was vicious n brutal fun to play evn if combat was easy. Plus without the foundations in this game, my other fav AC4 wouldnt hv been so perfect. AC3 personally always will hv a soft spot for me as a long time AC fan.
@@TheOldBlackShuckyDog 1, 2, Brotherhood and 3 had peak ost, I can't say the last two, but BF and Rogue had just afew memorable tracks. Unity and Syndicate were forgatable.
Indeed
I loved Origins soundtrack
Damn, it's been ages since the era of Desmond. We've come a long, long way. I really miss this series, the Old one. Now AC seems distant
We don't talk about...that guy.
The new AC is so disconnected from the overall themes and story of the franchise it’s laughable
Assassin's creed 2, brotherhood, 3, 4, and Unity the ones I played. After I saw the new ones I just didn't have that same feeling like I did with the old ones. It's not the same anymore...😥
Jesus, fuckin crybabies. 😂
The latest games are just massive grinds and it's pretty much just a different game now
This game came out my 7/8th grade year right when I was in US History, it was absolutely EPIC to learn about something in school and go home and play it in Assassins Creed. That experience made this a 10/10 game for me, even though I haven’t loved the series as a whole other than this game.
Same exact thing

Best experience I've had with an Ac title. Odyssey and Origins was nice having took world history before

“The wilderness isn’t nearly as breathtaking as the one Rockstar crafted for RDR2”
YOU’RE COMPARING A GAME FROM 2018 TO A LAST GEN GAME FROM 2012
i mean i understand that it’s a 2019 graphical upgrade but jesus dude
its a fair comarison imo.
M00rtin HOW?!?!
So true tho
Rdr1 came out in 2010 and it had better wilderness. What’s your point?
Bruce That is debatable. But this reviewer is talking about rdr2 which came out in 2018 and not 2010. So your point is irrelevant.
as far as remasters go its not so bad actually.
Tamer Ciftci I do I love all the ac games that came out so far.in my opinion as a big fan
@Tamer Ciftci my favourite will always be ac2, its a shame this remaster is far better than the ezio collection, as i wasnt a big fan of ac3. i stopped playing assassins creed halfway through syndicate but i enjoy all the older games
Better than arkham
@Tamer Ciftci brotherhood
Well that link looks sketch.
This was the first assassins creed I ever played and I was so blown away by it. This was the game that made me want play other assassins creed. Loved the way you could play between the assassins and templars. People don't give enough credit it deserves. For me this is the best game in the series.

Only down side to this game is the beginning where it takes 5 hours just to be Connor
I think they shortened Haythams missions
@@codycotten8953 dang, thats unfortunate
Exactly
I would say the only downside to the game is the game itself
@@fancypants5782 let me guess another Ezio fanboy go And play odyssey the supposed assasins creed without any assasin And templar

When you get a 78 on a test, are you the type of person to go up to the teacher saying “you seriously couldn’t just give me an 80?”
Ya dumb as rocks kid
@@BrentMurray94 Are you seriously comparing IGN's "legendary meme status" scoring to school scores? Ya smart as a toothpick kid
Max Paine Seth Macy gave this game a 7.8 because he didn’t think it was an 8. Of all the things to harp on ign about, this is a weird one
Yeah thier legendary rating system is
Quite LeGEndAry
My absolute favorite Assassins Creed game of all time. Everyone likes to hate on Connor because of his persona but he was still growing as a person and only had one game to do it in whereas Ezio had 3 full games to fully mature but he started out brash and angry just like Connor did. This game was amazing and I'm glad it got a remake.
Andrew Nguyen yeah but you were hooked into Ezio as soon as Ac2 started with them in that street fight.
@@stevenchowder81 yeah exactly also let's think. What if Assassins Creed 2 was the only ezio game? Ezio was far more developed by the end of AC2 than Conner was in AC3. Still love AC3 tho. Definetly top 3 AC games for me.
@@stevenchowder81 Big AC fan here, just not on my case. I thought the first parts of Ezio were really boring, not even when he first grabbed the outfit it felt any fun. AC1 has a much stronger start in my opinion. To me, AC2 only got better after around 5 hours of play or so, when it was clear what your overall objective was. Up to that point, I loved Ezio so much that Brotherhood/Revelations were a blast to play. The character alone sold me, despite how Revelation felt the weakest (and most rushed) of the three.
The pacing and missions were horrible.
In Ezio's defence, he didn't really need the other 2 games. He was likable by sequence 2.
Connor:I watch them fight and die in the name of freedom, they speak of liberty and justice...but for who?
Joey: *whom*
"future generations"? Really? What kind of a joke is that?...if you think about it.
Freedom of what? Today? I think if the people who did so much for freedom and liberty take a look into today they would be extremely disappointed.
7.8 Too many Assassin’s not enough Creed

@@ezwar99 ign is dead
I think it's backwards. More creed less assassins since connor and his recruits are the only assassins that I see
HOLD ME NOW, I'M SIX FEET FROM THE EDGE AND I'M THINKING
I loved this game to death when it came out, despite all the hate. It’s still one of my favorite in the series.
Why have a review of a remaster if you are going to critique it for the same stuff as the original. It's just a graphics upgrade with nothing big added on top!!!
Maybe because someone has never played it before, and they want to see an updated review?
So if they did a gorgeous remaster of a trash game for example should it get 10 ?????
Zaid Ali erm yh we are supposed to be reviewing a remaster here not the games plot, if the remaster refines gameplay and makes the game look much better you rate that remaster not the plot or voice acting or whatever.
Honestly IGN is so critical
I'd like to clarify that this remaster includes more than just graphics update, there is additional content and improved gameplay mechanics as well
So does the audio still disappear during those long walks of exposition, especially when giving key mission details, leaving you really confused?
Best ost among all AC games
Still listening to it
No
Ac 2 has better soundtrack
Agreed that soundtrack that plays when you take over a fort
It's a huge shame there's no ambient music while you're just exploring tho
When I first got the game on the 7th gen consoles it blew my mind in every way. Graphics, gameplay, story etc. And it also got me interested in the whole franchise. I can't understand what is wrong with the game.
literally nothing, people like to whine about literally the smallest things that hardly ruins the experience. i beat this game in 2013 and never understood the hate either. perfectly fine functional game from start to finish
@@dannyalvarado1080 I beg to differ, by far the most boring Assassins Creed game, Connor is still a shitty character that gets nothing done and whines when he doesn't get his way. I don't see how someone could like this
@@wezzsimple6612 no
@@wezzsimple6612 Wrong.
@@wezzsimple6612 You are just an Ezio fam boy, just admit it already. Not every Ac character needs to be a womenizer.
Last gen Ac games are better than the current gen. Just because it has realism, where in Ac Odyssey you have to stab someone with the same armor 5×times more.
agent-gaming it’s because they became RPG’s lol. Personally it’s a change I really like, I’ve enjoyed Origins and especially Odyssey more than any of the previous ones, but I can definitely see how the changes would put off fans of the originals.
But AC Odyssey and Origins doesn't feel like a assassin's Creed game
It was evolve or die. AC has always been boring as hell (except for AC 2, 3 and BF). Not saying it's a bad series but for christ's sake they had to up the ante and make some changes that would give the game more depth.
@@Clowncentral101 Boring as hell for you maybe but i loved every single entry. I like the old AC style. Black Flag and Syndicate are 2 of my favorite games of all time and i also had a lot of fun with Unity.
It's a video game bruh... a video game..
AC3 had the *Best* Soundrack hands down. - Thanks Lorne Bafle ❤️
ChrisAwake No way. Have you played AC2? Ezios Family, Venice Rooftop etc. by Jesper Kyd are epic works of art. Not hating on the AC3 soundtrack though
Shes alright but Jesper Kyd was better
AC2's OST was the best. They're still milking that to this day.
Ezio's family: am I a joke to you?
black flag shanties are the best
Thank you for bringing up frame rate awareness! Please do this more often!
Best combat in any AC game. Beginning was far too long from what I remember playing as a kid.
Nope, Odyssey and Origins changed that
@@StupidUsername1243 Odyssey and Origins do not have the best combat... Floaty, spongey, and utterly clunky.
@@StupidUsername1243 odyssey's combat is a joke lol
What do you people have against flushing out a story?
AC3, with Revelations, are to this day still my favorite AC games... I'm hyped to play it again as part of Odyssey's season pass!
Can anyone tell me the default settings for the HDR stuff please. I changed them and don't remember what they were when default. Is anyone else getting this white fuzz at the top of there screen?
It's an absolute grind getting started but once you are Conner and exploring it is a blast
This remaster has turned AC3 into my favorite game of the series. Highly recommend, especially if the American Revolution and frontier interests you.
The largest problem to this game is the pacing issues. Takes 6 hours just to become Conner
I like that
I miss old AC game. I didnt like rpg wannabe ac games
Sekiro is more Assassins Creed than Odyssey.
Plus they got greedy as hell with microtransactions.
I don't know. I think the rpg element has been a refreshing change. The series might have gone stale without it

Odyessy still has stealth, Isu tech, parkour, conspiracies and a unique look at historical detail, It's stil an Assassin's Creed Game
The RPG side adds more to the games
The setting, soundtrack, characters, costume, and the whole mechanic of this game, my fav AC game. Such an iconic point in time of my life. I’m senior in hs, I remember playing this in 6th grade.
I need to know whether this remastered is optimised or not. Assassin creed 3 is known to be highly unoptimised and even high end systems can't play it :/ is this the same case with the remastered? Can someone let me know?
This game has one of the best main themes of any game I’ve ever heard, and I feel like it never gets the credit it deserves. This was easily my favorite AC until I played Odyssey.

I’ve never played a single AC game. This looks hot though.
Think I’ll start here.
Have you ?
I hope you did start here. This is pretty much the best one they released (with the possible exception of Black Flag).
I don’t like that we can’t do stealth assassinations with the tomahawk anymore or with fists. Kind of pisses me off
2:00 do the apple still float on ghat part when the boy take off running
Currently playing it right now. The remastered makes the world more interesting and beautiful to look at. But at times, too dark and too bright in some areas.
Judging a last gen remaster because it plays like a last gen game
This may be a shock to you but some games just don't hold up over time. Especially a series like AC where Black Flag released a year later and shits all over AC3
@@fancypants5782 Black Flag is technically identical to AC3..
@@fancypants5782 I dont know about shitting all over.
Maybe in the open world department, but in combat, AC3 was hands down the best. Connor was also a better protagonist than Edward. The camera was right behind Connor making the game more immersive and personal, Black Flag's camera was almost a top down third person view during combat, making it less cinematic and engaging.
@@fancypants5782
I'd argue against that. AC4's ship stuff got boring because it hardly evolved over time. In contrast, AC3 only uses its navel stuff in bursts for more intense sequences
Keep in Mind AC3 Remastered still is competing against 2019 games for your 2019 money with its 2012 design. It's absoutly reasonable to judge a remastered version like this because 2019 consumers aren't going to go extra easy on it anyway.
What about 1080p on PS4 pro? Does it have a 60fps option?
_It still ain't better than Bookworm Adventures Deluxe._
While kids from 10 years old be busy playing games, I was training to become an intellectual with Bookworm.

39.99$? Uh, pass. I'll pick it up for sure when it drops down to about 19.99-10.99
Contrary to popular belief, this was an amazing AC game, and the last “real” one seeing it ended the Desmond Miles story which wasn’t terrible at all
What I don’t understand is how people are saying the whistling wasn’t originally there, I remember it being there and spamming it until a guard came by.
Yeah it was actually introduced in AC 3 from what i recall and made a huge difference in the ability to stay stealthed.
In the original ac3 you could only whistle from corners but not in large bushes or haystacks.
Ubi still hasn't fixed the hats!
It's like having gorilla glue in the bottom of the hats!
This game is a weird memory for me. I hate the game but the hype leading up to it was the first time I ever got that hyped for a game so it holds a special place in my heart.

Had no idea what the entire lore was but it's really fun and interesting that it got me into the other AC games.

And yet the reviewer is judging this last-generation game off the fact that it feels like a last-generation game. How dumb are these reviewers? It is a last generation game since it came out on the PS3 and Xbox 360. No wonder why no one takes them seriously.
Ya....guys u are right. I don't think so any other games has a polished open work like ac3 had.(regarding 2012 generation games).I am just fond of exploring Boston.

This will be forever my favorite AC game.
First reason is the time of my life I got to play it for the first time, it brings back some beautiful memories and feelings. Second reason is the story about American colonies and about Boston that I adore. Third reason is that Connor was a great character from my perspective - young, oblivious to the ways of the "empire", naively righteous and stubborn as hell.
I do understand that most of ya'll didn't like this instalment, but it will be my favorite forever
Better texture for characters? are you sure about that?
I have played every AC game when they came out. Even bought Bloodlines on PSP when I was a kid day one. Ubisoft has improved the franchise so much and is one of my favorite AAA companies. Especially with the quality games they have been putting out in recent years
How can original review get more points if this is improved version?
One word:
"IGN"
that review was made in 2012
possibly by a different reviewer
this one is done to be more in line with games of 2019
or at least remasters
and tbh this isn't that great of a remaster like many other remasters you see nowadays
and I think that's what the point is for
Different reviewers, IGN isn't a hive mind.
or actually its not improved at all
They review it as a remaster and they have to consider all the new entries of the franchise and compare it with them.Back in 2012 AC3 was the latest entry of the franchise and they review it as that

since they bring dark soul style combat...i quit the franchise.

@@danylepage8338 I couldn't get more than a few hours into Assassin's Creed Origins because on top of the combat, they also took away is Cinematic camera 4 the NPC dialogue. That pushed did over-the-top for me. Just felt so lazy and I was so bored every time I have to speak to an npc.
I can't say that Odyssey is still worth fighting. They brought the Cinematic camera back and there are enough for a qualities about it where I forgive the combat. I guess I can compare to Kotor. No one played those games for the amazing combat. They forgave the combat because everything else was so awesome
@@andrew1470 I guess you could say that's the easy answer , but that doesn't really make sense because I do like other very difficult games. I love the Cinematic quality to the combat in Assassin's Creed 3. You feel like a true master... Sort of like the movie Zorro how he effortlessly fought off an entire Armada of troops in the Stables. You actually feel like a master. I do, however, feel like a master when the combat looks clunky. Strike strike roll roll, strike roll strike roll.... I haven't played AC 3 , original is cheaper than remastered, so I was wondering except the graphics are there any worthwhile gameplay changes to buy remaster ? Feel the gameplay same as original or is it different?
Literally no one asked for this. They should’ve remake Assassins Creed Chronicles: China into full fledged triple A game. They missed one the best settings in AC with side scroller.
I've seen so many people ask for this. You must've looked in the wrong place.
9/10 for Haytham alone

My favorite AC game definitely. However are there any new contents for remastered version except those bonus missions and DLC
You missed the most important question: are there any game breaking glithes like in the original one ??
AC 3 is the best.I love Ubisoft for bringing it back
I will always love this game. I was obsessed with assassins creed since grade 4 and my parents finally let me play it after 2 years of begging. Easily the happiest days of my life. Tried to play it again for a bit but it wasn’t as fun as when I was 12. I’ll just remember it as the best game ever tho
AC 3 was the first game I played on PC and have relished every moment of it! Although now I have played tons of other games but never understood what was generally wrong with the game or with the main character who seemed quite capable enough ; some slow missions and a less active frontier gameplay were a little off. But still , this was hell of a game.

Now when watching videos of the remastered version of this game I honestly need a few moments to check if it's the old or remastered game I'm seeing. To me this game wasn't really great in 2012 and it's not great in 2019 with new shadows.
