  • The second of a series of short talks for colleagues in Network Rail and the wider rail industry on how ETCS (cab signalling) operates.
This talk is about what goes into a Movement Authority sent by the Trackside and how it is used by the Onboard to keep the train movement safe.

I have been looking at the whole issue of timers - section, overlap, end section - just recently and thinking that is an issue which would be a good subject.
I will see what I can do.

Is Patrick's clever solution in operation?

Not yet in UK but it has been implemented in Europe I understand. You have to be aware that an error in the balise group will not be reported to the RBC so extra maintenance checks may be needed.

      Thanks.
      1. Has it been implemented with the text message?
      2. Not reporting by all FS/OS trains traveling in the direction of the text message / TSR => ok. But in the other direction should be possible?
