I try to animate a shot from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End from scratch, specifically in episode 9 during the fight scene between Linie and Stark, one of the more iconic shots in the anime. This is not how the actual anime is made, just how I would do it, however there are some parts in the process where I followed methods that other people used, mostly how the line art of the animation was made differently.

If this video does well, I'll make another one like this in the future. Feel free to leave suggestions on what other shots you might want to see!
The shot of Frieren's feet while laying on the bed in episode 12.
There's a few moments that I think would work well...
But what comes to mind first is Frieren breaking the barrier.
As an artist people who do animation are wayy more skilled than we are! If just one shot took this amount of time and effort, i can't imagine what goes to even a single 20 minute episode!!!
I'm starting to feel bad for the animators of Re:zero season 2, having to do 2 cours with full 30 minutes episodes with no OP or ED sounds disgusting lmao
i don't know a thing about the animation process, but i loved to see you break down what you did! good work and awesome video!!
This scene did grab my attention. It feels.. great to see how she uses her light body to build momentum for the axe
Very talented and hard-working artist here!!!
I think i will deffitly finally start once again to try to learn drawing and stick this time. All those amazing things i keep seeing just look like they are saying "just look what you could potentially do if you put some effort"
That's the mentality I like having. You need to give something a shot in order to know if you can do it!
got randomly recommended this video and by the gods, well done!
I don't know how I got here, but damn this is amazing.
Wait what i thought i was watching a big youtuber for the whole video until i looked at your channel, this is really good content, hope you will make more!
Haha well I guess I put more effort into the thumbnail this time, but really appreciate it!
That looked so beautiful and the amount of effort to recreate. You deserve many head pats for a job well done.
This is very cool! Thank you for taking the time to show your process. It showed how much dedication is needed to make a few seconds of beautiful animation. I have always wanted to animate but the tedious nature of it has kept me at bay. Please be so proud of this! Rooting for you to do more.
I loved how you animated
I been 5 years now an animator in studio this is first time see other people work's 😊
really love this! well done
Yoo this is great. Nice to see other's animation process!!
That is some ultra professional level work! How many hours did this take?
At least over 10, I didn't keep count on it 😅
Loving your content
Oh wow this is really good!! i cant imagine how long it took to make this
Much longer than I expected XD
This is a wonderful breakdown of a scene and your recreation is spectacular~ Great job on everything, including on the video format, you had me entertained from start to finish!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was a little worried that it wouldn't be entertaining enough if I was explaining with only text so I try editing the video to follow the music
keep up the great work!!!
Wow, really good. Subscribed 😁
This video is awesome, just got here through yt recommendations, hoping for more animation process! Subscribed ❤
Definitely more will be made!
yo this is so wild! looks like this could have been in the anime too ngl, thanks for showing ur process I feel like I learned a lot and I'm def gonna look into getting an OLM plug in :>
It's a very popular tool amongst post production even in the industry. You can also check @DongChang 's videos about his experience in the anime industry and what he used (including OLM plugins)
@@ElinaNoodles ay I've seen a few of his videos! Really enjoy seeing his rough animations, thanks for reminding me of him
surprised this video has so few views
Praying to the CZcams algorithm
this was brilliant🎉 📈
your really talented man keep it up
Yup good choice using Photoshop for clean up, I've been strungling cleaning up in animate😂😂😂 just doesn't feels right
Animate's drawing tools are a bit more restrictive, so I always end up exporting my frames to clean up in photoshop
Offering a comment to the algorithm gods. And nice video mate
Thank you for the support!
Amazing😮
Amazing ! How many time did it take you to do all of this ??
A little under two weeks, for the animation and all the editing
💪💪💪💪💪
🔥🔥🔥
I've seen your work on the discord, much love
how long did this take to animate? its so well done!
The animation itself was done within a week, with probably a couple of hours done per day. It took longer than I expected but it was a good experience for me
ty! yea the animation is solid. iv been tryna learn lol@@ElinaNoodles
Oh my your so passionate
Did you di time charts ? If so, which drawings were Keys, my problem with such studies is separating which one are the keys and in-betweens
Hi sorry I didn't do time charts for this.
This is amazing 😮, i always wanted to start animating but i have no computer 😂.
You can start on paper, build the fundamentals and train your muscle memory!
@@ElinaNoodles thank you🙏I'm going to do that Starting now
whats that process called where you draw the orange skeleton framework to draw the backgrounds or the character? Where could i learn to do that?
Hi I'm not sure if there's a specific term for it. The process you mentioned where I first start drawing out the characters and backgrounds I usually refer to as the draft or draft sketch. I mostly developed this process which can be similar to animating stick figures, and the best advice I can give to learn to do this is to watch behind-the-scenes on character animations who do similar processes
my youtube algorithm gets better with ur vids on them 🫶
super well done!! :3
