  • It's an entry level performance shoot out! RAW Hammer Hybrid vs. Track Tundra Fire. Will the different coverstock types be the difference or will the slightly stronger core be what separates these two?

    Good stuff Nick. You can't beat a comparison review for helping us decide on a ball or not. These low diff HK-22 balls have my attention. Thank you sir.

    Great comparison! Just picked up my Tundra Fire last night. Drilled it 60x4.5x30, same as my Ocean Vibe. Really excited to see how they compare and hopefully compliment each other!

    For y our future ball reviews, please state what kind of bowler a particular piece might be better suited for. Just as not all pieces of equipment are recommended on all conditions, namely some are better on the fresh and others after the shot has burned in, the same can be said for bowlers. For instance, if someone is speed dominant, a ball with a core that will make it roll earlier and has a stronger cover might be better suited for them. Thanks.

    Hey Nick good review!
    Do you feel with two different layouts you could have both balls in the bag one being smoother the other sharper? Or would it overlap to much.

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  Před rokem +1

      I think you’d need some more surface on the RAW to really separate them more to be a step up/step down.

    Drilled up a Tundra Fire this morning, and tested it out. 5.5x60 or 5.5x5x2 2LS, and clean and control layout. The Tundra is very clean and not too quick off the back end. Of the balls I had with me, it most resembled a Magenta Rhino (solid) in overall strength, except a couple feet longer, and with more pop off the back end. This was the first ball I thrown with the HK-22 base, and I'm kinda shocked how clean and responsive it is. Reminds me a lot of Storm's Reactor based covers (Reactor, R2S, etc). What would be a good HK22 step up from the Tundra Fire, without being too much stronger? I think the Tundra and something earlier would make a good pair on the house shot locally.

    My daughter currently has the Raw Pearl and Ocean Vibe in 10 lbs. Per your recommendation, I ordered the Tundra Fire (in 12 lbs) but my understanding is that it is comparable to the Ocean Vibe. Which I take to mean that is skid-flip. Contrasted with the Raw Pearl which seems to be weaker and have a more gradual shape. We like having both options. Which ball do you recommend to replace the Raw Pearl?

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  Před rokem +1

      If you’re looking for a replacement, then another RAW Hammer would be ideal. Or you could go with something smoother and stronger like a RAW Solid.

    I have a new Hammer #14 that I've spent so much money setting up and re-drilling and a Track Heat that I found a thrift store for a whole $20. The Track works better for me and the Raw Hammer has found a home in the garage. I've tried to get that Raw to work and it doesn't.

As I evolve as a bowler and my way of throwing the ball changes,I take it out of my closet to try and I get the same results. I think I’ll have to give it away. 14 lbs. I just ordered the tundra fire through my pro and hope I have a better response especially on dry lanes.
