- I DIDNT know I was allergic until this yard!!
This backyard was a NIGHTMARE!! Y'all asked for it so I came back to makeover this back yard! Little did I know there was a change of events. I got attacked by (you'll see) and was fine at first but 15 mins later my nose and eyes started swelling up so I told the homeowner then rushed home before I couldn't see at all. Got a little scary because I couldn't breath out of my nose and my eyes so puffy, I didn't look like my self at all! When I got home I took some benidrill took a shower and slept till the next day. Probably should have went to urgent care but im stubborn. I want to let you guys know I ok just was a little scare. I think it was so bad because I it was right between my eyes and nose... LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Sorry to scare y'all, it comes with doing this type of work sometimes!!

Al, from a retired physician assistant, with that severe a reaction to the wasp sting, the next sting could impair your airway. Please get your dr. to prescribe an Epi-Pen you can have with you on these jobs. It will allow you 15 minutes to get to an emergency room for life-saving treatment. Benadryl is good for hives, rash and itching, but it won't open your airway. Please do this before your next job.
THIS⬆️ The next time you see your doctor, show this reaction from the video and get a prescription for an epi pen; then keep it with you. Your next encounter could be much worse!

Yes Epi-Pen, Benadryl maybe a medical bracelet since you had a bad reaction. I know you like to help out the owner/renter plus the neighbors probably appreciate your hard work but sometimes maybe it’s a good idea to pass. Your awesome love your videos 💗
Since you had this reaction, have an EpiPen with you ALWAYS. I was told by a physician, the next time could be deadly.

Al, I got stung in the face by a lot of yellow jackets at 18 while clearing raspberries for neighbor. I was rushed to the hospital, and had an out of body experience as my throat closed off. Don't mess with allergic reactions. Call 911 or head to the hospital, not home. Be safe.
Good advice. That's why there's ERS. Better safe than sorry. Your family needs you.

Some advice here from a nurse. Keep some liquid Benadryl in your truck!! It can be liquid in a pill form but you want the liquid so it will be fast acting. Benadryl is an antihistamine and having some can definitely save you from a lot of swelling and pain and in some cases it could save your life. Even if you have a severe allergic reaction bad enough that you need to immediately go to the ER you will still do better if you have a dose of Benadryl in your system! Also you can buy bars of soap specifically made to wash off poison ivy or poison oak - get some and keep in your truck to wash your arms and hands in case you think you've come in contact with either plant poison!! Keep an extra shirt in your truck and if you think you've touched a plant poison pull off the dirty shirt, wash with the soap and put on a clean shirt until you can get home for a proper shower. Ask your local pharmacist if you can't find it easily. I think you should speak to your doctor about possibly getting an Epi-Pen considering the type of work you do!!! Keep a cold pack in your cooler - would feel good on a sting. Please consider these medical precautions.

Great advice. My dog was stung Saturday pm and I got 2 Benedryl's down her & rushed her to the ER Vet. Total body hives, face looked like a bumpy bull dog face, her throat was swelling closed. Very scary 😨 time. My husband is allergic to bee stings as well. He got stung between his eyes on his forehead. Epi Pens are sooooo expensive. They can save a life, I don't understand why they have to cost so much.

When a house has a young and able guy coming to the door in his pajamas it’s hard not to judge.
It IS hard not to judge. Maybe he is living with a mental illness. We just don't know do we? Maybe he has motivation issues or he is overwhelmed and doesn't know where or how to begin the task. As for Al, please take precautions as the nurse on her suggested. Not wise to not be prepared for issues when it is just a matter of a first aid kit. Talk to your Dr. the next time you see them. Epi pens are great but do expire and need to be replaced when they do. I understand that they may be expensive. I'm sure your followers would chip in to get one for you!

I am medical...this guy can stand but he may have serious medical problems that prohibit him from doing anything physical... heart or lung, ot kidney failure. Etc...stop judging! As Jesus said "let him without sin cast the 1st stone".

It is easier than you realize, you just sit things down thinking you will get back to them but don't. My yard accumulates things and gets a major clean up about three times a year.

She’s old and has too much to maintain and no money. Unless the son steps up they are going to be right back in the same position in a few weeks. She needs to downsize so she doesn’t have so much to take care of.

Sonny Boy should have done some yard work before Al arrived. Put the step ladder away, put the cardboard boxes in the trash, separate the junk that he wants to keep from the junk that can be hauled away, clean up around the front door, and do other easy tasks. He has no consideration for a good person who is providing a free service. That yard needs a dumpster, not a lawnmower.

A little advice, whether you're allergic or not, invest in bee sting kits. With your line of work, it is a necessary evil. You may never know what's in that grass you're mowing. Glad you made it home safely.

Also, not good to sleep something off because of this reaction, also people choking in a restaurant will go to the washroom and with heart attack symptoms go to bed. Heart attack symptoms can be different for different people and different for women than men. You want to get checked out, not seclude yourself. Going to the ER and finding you aren't having a heart attack, is the old saying better to be embarrased than dead.

Old skool tip: Throw an old fashioned bottle of vinegar in your car. Whenever a wasp stings soak the area with vinegar. It smells a bit sour but it sure helps against the swelling. But you're a hero anyway, keep it up Al!

I'm having an internal challenge with myself trying to understand when they have someone such as Al - a man with a beautiful heart and soul, and yet they can't even help by cleaning up all the junk and trash all around their home... And Al gets stung and feels compelled to finish his work. There are people who truly deserve Al's help, and then there are people who selfishly take advantage of his beautiful soul... I'm having difficulty understanding and being compassionate... I feel very bad for their neighbors and neighborhood, and fail to understand how the city or town has not given them citations for their deplorable clutter.

I can understand a yard and bushes getting out of control if you are sickly or elderly, what I cannot understand is the years of pileup of garbage that you have to clean up to get to the yard.

@@jannibal9273he'd recently moved in to 'help' his Mom recover after serious illness....I'm not sure how much 'help' he'll be when he was sleeping during the day despite knowing that Al was coming back to tackle the back garden I'd have been mortified for someone not just to see but to film such a mess that just half an hour of throwing away the trash & at least gathering the other stuff together, out of the way, would have mostly dealt with! In the first video there were 2 chickens roaming the garden, amongst all that mess! There could well have been more shut up in the different coops too. They at least will really appreciate the tidy up, even before Al returned to cut the grass!!!

Next purchase at least a head/ face mask to prevent bee stung, if not the full kit keep them pesky hornets off..
buddy it would be a good idea to carry benidrill in your truck. Thats usually what is recommended for bee stings. Also an old remedy of baking soda and vinegar made into a paste can be applied directly to the sting to relieve the pain. Although not around you eyes. You’re such a great human. So sorry you ran into that bee. ❤❤❤😊
When I was a Campfire leader on our list of emergency supplies to carry was meat tenderizer, you put it on the sting area and it realives the swelling and pain. I also have used baking soda and a small amount of water and made a paste and that works. Good luck 🤞

He did a video on this same house but only did front told them he would be back to the rest woman is elderly and her son moved in both were in hospital according to last video if they can’t move appliances then maybe he could’ve them numbers to call for pick up ? I feel bad for folks when they can’t do anything on their own because it’s just too much for them I had a stroke and I can’t do things like I used to bless Al for helping those in need

I have been stung many times in my life, but only became allergic a few years ago. I now make sure I have my Benadryl (fresh, as it loses effectiveness with time.) and EpiPen handy before I mow. Another tip is putting a few drops of dish soap (like Dawn) in water in a squirt bottle. It will kill those wasps faster than anything else I have tried at a fraction of the cost. I love your shows. Keep being you. Like others, I find it hard not to judge, but you remind me to be a kinder, gentler person.

It is so easy to break down boxes and put them inside another box to take to recycling.
Al has a sweet soul. There is no way I could do a yard like that. If it was a total clean up yes, but to have to move trash to mow. I couldn't do it.

I don't remember seeing him being bitten by the dog. Maybe that wasn't recorded. I always hope that these people are inspired by the CZcamsrs' efforts. The son was asking if he could help. I suspect the inside of the house is as bad as the outside. And it's defeating, but you have to start somewhere.

Don’t be disappointed when the people you help don’t keep their yards up after all the hard work you do to improve them and clean things out. For about 20 years I visited my cousin and parents in CA once or twice a year and did major yard work for both and the next time I was there things were the same overgrown and trash filled way. Some people just don’t bother. It’s to your credit that you do.

Many things can interfere with our health. Allergies can be a big one. So being prepared is a big one.

I had a hard time not judging these folks as i never understand how folks can just put furniture and appliances etc in the yard and just leave them to deteriorate instead of donating items to Goodwill, Salvation Army etc. You are wonderful to do the work you do without any judgement at all!

Laziness plain and simple. If they are physically capable of dealing with it having no money shouldn’t be an excuse. It doesn’t cost anything to put it on the curb, your taxes are being used to get rid of it.

I've watched a lot of your videos and it never ceases to amaze me that you're mowing these lawns and you uncover lawn mowers and yard tractors. That guy who answered the door looked like he was in his underwear! I live in Az, and when the temps get up in the 100's, i get out early in the day and get my chores done before I get baked.
When a yard is difficult either ask your buddies for help or take extra breaks and please stay hydrated and eat something to keep your energy up
Yes, there needs to be more working with Al on this one. Maybe the owner's son, if he's healthy. That is one huge job. I know Al has a lot of good friends who'd help.
Or get the guy inside to help lol, but after you do a lunch run for him of course.

That's the problem. There's a lot of people out there who just take advantage of christian kindness. they don't care about anyone. Stop thinking you're gonna teach them some moral value. they know the difference. they just don't care. they are selfish and deserve nothing. Yet someone like myself who has never asked for help yet needed it and have gone hungry in my own country, because I am not fat, and therefore not seen as disabled, have never received any kindness or support from any male whatsoever.
There is a prejudice here. If you're skinny and do the right thing. Zero help.

Bees don’t like the sound of trimmers, lawn mowers or shears. Found out the hard way, strimming long grass next to a bee hive. My husband was stung in his arm pit 5 times and the bees chased us away, just a few minutes later the bee keeper arrived and told us what had happened. The bee keeper put his suit on and he trimmed the grass around the hives.
Al, you go above and beyond mowing and trimming. I've never seen anyone pick up trash and organize people's mess like you. You truly are God sent to all those you help. To me it looked like the homeowners were actually attempting to cover every single square inch of ground with something, anything, but mostly trash and junk. Also appeared they were the type to buy something with big ideas and never follow through(the one chicken coupe and wheel barrel looked almost new). Another amazing job by Al, what a good dude. Thank goodness for the extreme opposite types of people to the ones inhabiting that house. Ive seen clearer, better mannered animals. Godspeed friends, thanks a million Al.

I love all the folks sharing what to keep for next time. Of course a baking soda pack is great for neutralizing the sting. But ouch!! This is where I am as mad as a hornet 😮 we are minding our own business and out of no where they sting you and makes you mad mad mad.

Watching you get stung like that brought back memories of when my brother and i used to help our dad out in the summer when we were kids...hes a landscaper...and one summer my brother got stung by yellow jackets and he swole up bad...my brother recently passed away and i miss him so much today was his birthday...your video just helped me get through the day...thank you for all you do and take care of yourself

They said on the last video that he had just moved back in to help his mom. When I see this much trash in the backyard, it looks to be maybe a hoarder situation. This is a mental health issue. There is no telling what the inside of the house may look like.
As to what may have stung Al, I think it might have been a wasp or hornet. Did you see the size of the hole the stinger left? OMG, please be more careful, Al. You're a God send to these people that you help and a major inspiration to those of us watching.

Hi Al! You have to immediately pull the stinger out with tweezers to get rid of the pain and reduce swelling (good to keep them on hand along with a complete first aid kit with a pack of Benadryl… don’t forget the pink oil too). Overall, it’s good seeing you’re doing better.
Back when I was railroading, was on a job supporting reconstruction and we were going along at walking speed while an operator picked up old ties along the right of way. During the course of these activities, the conductor, and myself the brakeman were switching off every couple of miles and during my time out there the operator hit a bee hive. He was enclosed, he had no idea how bad it was, had a swarm around me and I ran up and jumped on the engine telling the conductor it was his turn for the rest of the night! I got stung in my head, was about 7 or 8, just itched and I had no reaction to them thankfully. I hate bees, so I’m more aware since then some 24yrs ago!
Good on ya Al for all your good deeds, glad you are well. I do think that ladies son should be tending to his mom’s house. I’m disabled and though some days I am in a ton of pain, I still try and manage to tend to the house as much as possible, hire help where needed for things I can’t do. I guess everyone’s priorities are different.

This was not a cleanup from inability to get to it. It was a dump of things not being thrown away and neglected. Totally needed a dumpster. Kudos to Al for all the work and dedication. Could have used some help on this one.

When I was a child on our farm, I got stung on my right eyebrow...that thing swelled up to the point that I couldn't see out of my eye...meat tenderizer and water paste did a quick job of reducing the swelling!
