They had just finished watching "Saving Private Ryan" and felt there was nothing more epic than D-Day. The song was originally titled "Overlord" but was changed before release. They decided to make an album based on war history and Joakim said after that, writing lyrics (which he dreaded) was no longer a necessary evil but something both he and Par enjoyed.
