Smog Tailpipe Emissions Test Preparation

Every two years, I prepare my 1999 and older automobiles for the California emissions test. This is basic preparation for states that perform tail pipe emissions test for vehicles with no other issues. I demonstrate what I do on my 1989 Honda Civic.
The four basic steps before the smog test are:
• Oil and filter change,
• Clean the air filter,
• Change the oxygen sensor, and
• Drive for a week with Royal Purple MaxClean or 505 CRF fuel system cleaner.
