dusty was the first player I saw doing the fend off, he made it iconic.. even against my bombers at dreamtime your reminded of his greatness and how dominant he is, he just turns it on another level for the big games. What a champion of the game, legend.

He gets paid to play footy I'm sure he would have made a deal with the club to not have to talk to the media as he is uncomfortable doing so. I'm 100% sure that any AFL club would agree with that deal if they had a player with Dustin's abilities. All contracts are individual and between player and club. The media is not really anything to do with playing consistent football. All the money in the world can't make someone change how they feel internally unless they change certain thinking patterns even doing that would take time.
He doesn’t trust the media. His old man was betrayed terribly by the media. So he can do what he wants. No bow down to flops. He’s staunch and has his beliefs. So that’s it. He doesn’t have to do a thing .

Dustin Martin, scraping the bottom of the barrel. Saw him 2019 on Punt Rd waiting at the lights in a sports car. He leant out the window and waved a bottle of Dom Perignon at a homeless man, while the young bird in the front seat laughed raucously. Total flog.
