What I'd be interested in seeing is an example of connecting a MIDI controller (MIDI out only) to the DAW via audio interface using a MIDI cable between the controller and audio interface.

Mike, thanks for another great video. All my instruments are vst now but watched anyway. I am scratching my head a little over the audio delay when recording the synth as driven by midi from the daw track. Seems lile that delay would be present even if just playing back. Is it not just the inherit latency in the system? Would all midi tracks benefit (timing wise) from being transformed to audio and time corrected? Or is the difference not really perceptible?

hey Mike, i've got a question, how do you change patches from external synths via midi (events) in your DAW, like say you want to change the sound of the synth in the 8th bar to another sound, for a specific instrument do you have to read your synth manual to find the sound and bank nr, and how do you implemet this in your DAW, i have studio one and fl studio as a DAW, they are both very different,cheers mate

Is there a correct way to record my own samples for drum midi? I feel like there is a delay in the beat each time I hit the controller after setting my own sounds up in the midi drum program....what am I missing?
