I work at this factory. We're an 'essential manufacturer'. It's amazing how clean all of the equipment is in this video. Grateful to have a job during these trying times.
It's actually not , it's the same process only they used human fat . But if you listen to Tyler durden as he's explaining the process then watch what they do here ... It's pretty much the same without heavy machinery.
This music somehow burrowed itself into my brain. I often scat it. One of my friends who has never seen this can be heard going, "Woo be do be do be do boo...."
+AstralHex That could actually be due to some quality checks. I would imagine that, like most factories, there is a step where a laser or some other machine scans the product. It it's ok it continues its way, if not it gets thrown out. I dont think the grippers just failed to pick one up, that would make to sense since that would mean that either there is one bar of soap that just landed next to the working tape, or that the grippers and the rate in which bars are produces are out of synch, which is a no-no for every factory. So it seems reasonable to assume that they were kicked out for some reason in a quality check.
What they aren't telling you is, this process is known as cold press soap, and they are NOT showing the process were they strip all the glycerin out of the soap, making the soap more harsh on the skin. Hot press soap or hot pour has to sit for at least 30 days so it can completely saponify after it has been molded and is much better for your skin. You'll probably only find hot pour soaps at Amish stores or stores that only sell organic or natural products and it's around 5 dollars a Bar.
V to be me yes that makes sense but wouldn't it be cheaper to just call it olive shaped soap and not have it shaped or colored? They would save lots of money on the machines and the electricity bill
I made soap some time back and I find it interesting the differences between home made soap and industrial soap. I prefer to use vegetable oils over animal fats.
Lol! Yeah, I saw that too. I wonder if that made it to a store...if it did, looks like someone got ripped off. So much for a "squeaky clean reputation!"
And I made my first homemade soap using olive oil and I can say it turned out nice and after 2 weeks of treatment, it's finally friendly for the skin! 🙃

Funny thing is that we pay for soap at least x10 more it`s actual expenses. Those materials does not cost anything. I understand that you have to pay transportation and electricity, but that`s beside the point. You know those aroma soaps with multiple colours that they sell on weight at soap stores? there things are expensive but even with all the fees you get lots of money. So this is like..clean money.
The labor cost and the time consumes making soap is what usually makes it expensive... just think of making homemade soaps and trying to sell it on a charity or any events, some, actually, almost all homemades are more expensive than the commercial soaps in the market... that's how it is.
You're right, it really doesn't cost that much but it's only the brand names that cost a lot. You can get the same quality of soap for a considerably less amount of money with non brand name soaps.
***** They don`t grow animals for the sole purpose turning them into soap. It`s a by-product that is quite cheap. I am so sure about it because I am familiar with soap making due to my former occupation. Vegetable oil is usually 3rd rate (figure of speech) palm oil which is dirt cheap. But yeah, transportation, labour, bills, all that costs money. And like Kenny said - brand.
My grandfather owned a chemical based company, he always said that soap was one of the cheapest things to make yet they sold it at almost six times the cost.
