I highly recommend Kotov's book "Think Like a Grandmaster". When I was playing tournament chess in the eighties and nineties, it more than any other book I studied improved my game immensely. It teaches how to actually think about your candidate moves and the trees of variations, and how to whittle away till you find the most likely continuation move at any point in the game.
I did pause and see the queen sac but only worked out a couple of moves after that. Nice game!
Thank you
Beautiful game! Thanks
This game gave me high blood pressure. I am suing.
If it didn't take as many moves to force a resignation, the Queen sacrifice would be suitable for a chess tactics puzzle.
Great game!
Kotov played a brilliant game, his book is pretty good too.
What a game
Kotov had to be ready for a long drawn out fight on the kingside. Brilliantly executed.
Fortune favors the brave
Great fight
After this game, Averbakh wrote the book "Cry like a grandmaster".
The truth hurts.
Incorrect
All that repetition! It felt like Ground Hog Day.
All that repetition! It felt like Ground Hog Day.
All that repetition- Okay, I'll stop now.
Good match, I remember he wrote in this book something like this. kotovism: when you think long and hard then make an obvious blunder move.
Mato, not sure if you're following TCEC season 18 superfinal between SF and LCzero. There's been some really incredible games like game 8 where SF gave up 2 pieces and still ended up winning.
Send me the link please
I really miss it when you don't make a video. I wonder if you are ok...lol
4 th. Nice game
What about Keres vs Averbakh?Kind of interesting clash don't you think?
I saw queen x H3 but didnt even calculate Kx H3. I just assumed KG1😂
How are we suppose to calculate this ? :(
Averbakh got Kotov guard
Kotov did a Botez Gambit...then shouldn't it be called the Kotov Gambit?
The one pawn ruined white.
No way, a queen sac
I'm trying to understand matos sense of humour.
Yes. It's good
He's pretty funny.
Why arent you covering the chessable masters there are many interesting games going on
