i once went to fight calvus and soo many people came in like straight up 5 people (we failed also his hp was crazy)
the problem: he moves at light speed and attacks faster than your computer can proccess whats happening now
I think there is three main issues that contribute to the misconception that he’s a hard boss to defeat.
1: people are playing on small pcs or phones that can’t keep a steady fps for his attacks
2: the game barely incentivizes you to learn how to parry, there’s no boss prior (that I’m aware of) that kinda forces or incentivize you to learn how to parry
3: the sequence of events leading up the boss doesn’t give you time to stock up or upgrade your weapons and armor.
and it’s really hard (not impossible tho) to not alert the guards, basically forcing you to use what you have on you unless you manage to sneak your way off the island and onto sailors lodge.
TL;DR? People with bad computers complaining + Poor game design choices

For people with fighting styles, use your crash as an extra dash. Helped me dodge a fully charged Calvus pillar once.

i find that most bosses are incrediblly hard to keep an eye on, they move too much and it's very easy to confuse them for terrain or teammates (probably my skill issue)
and the comments do raise a good point that some players have potatoes for gaming
but still thank you for making this, it is still much much better than nothing
Man, I wonder how u don't get annoyed. (Cus the pillar attack goes of automatically bc of the corroding dmg from acid)
Additional info ig:
-Calvus charge up his pillar attack way faster in 2nd phase
-U can cheese him if he does barrage attack
-Dont approach him unless he does pillar attack or after barrage
-Get a good pc
-Be careful of the arrow/orb cus it always combos with other skills and melts u
-Calvus only creates tornado if he fails to stab u

If the pillar attack goes off instantly because of DOT that means it’s doing the least possible damage.

quick tip: when calvus uses his pulsar move, you can usually see that there are two circles behind him and in his first phase the pulsar gets smaller to indicate hes charging it.

*: There is some good information here that you might find helpful. At least I did!
**: Calvus has 2 variations of this attack, one for each phase. The 2nd phase version is stronger (and might have more to it but I'm not sure, tbh).
***: I have heard RUMORS that the tornado attack is part of another attack (no idea which one) and that it only happens in phase 2. Once again, this is just a RUMOR I have come across and might not be true. Please let me know if this is correct!

Tip here for Warlord users: its easy to use staff, bronze musket, and claws to do it, start hitting calvus if hes casting a spell so u get free dmg

Btw,calvus tends to use the 'pulsar' move when hes close to you/lands close.
I managed to it first try right after watching this! (All the tries before were less than mundane)
Tip: Before he does a barrage attack, he slams the ground and throws a trident at you. In phase two the trident is replaced with a beam attack.
Don't know if it's just me but i think there's 2 type of barrage. One is slower and is randomly used while Calvus is doing anything, if you see him float midair doing nothing and dash again then that means it's charging, expect it to come shortly, though it's usually can be ignored anyway. The other is faster which you don't wanna stuck in any animation during this one as you'll likely die if you take it all in. Funny thing is the faster one is part of a combo of ground slam - throw(big beam if phase 2) - barrage - the second slam - big knockback kick.
So my tip is basically don't attempt to damage him after the first ground slam, always expect a follow up(he may do a grab instead also), and you can negate his knockback kick with any skill as it's pretty safe to sneak in 5 melee attack after the combo

But with the power of friendship, I manage to convince a random nearby dude bullying centurions via in-game message to help me beat him. Almost forgot: Can I join ur clan? Dash right before calvus fires his phase 2 blast, he will lead the shot too much and miss.
His lunge is the short range version of his combo move (as the wiki calls it, its the ground stomp into trident throw then 4 blasts and a crash then kick in phase 1. Phase 2 replaces throw with beam and 4 blasts with barrage)
Pulsar is the close range version of blast
This makes this infinitely easier. When I first fought him I got hit by the pillar attack and got scared by the high amounts of damage and thought the whole fight was like that.

The main problem I had was that he was darting around so I just spammed moves in an attempt to hit him but now it’s actually so easy

Honestly, just camp the upstairs area and use the throne as a shield. The throne will never break.
Sometimes he just does another move instead of finishing the previous, catching me off guard + I don't see any of his animations or effects, and only know what move he uses when he shoots
the problem here is that for some reason even tho i dont lag my attacks get delayed by a whole 3 seconds when i use them
He is too fast and 2nd phase is too challenging. I quit this game because Im stuck with king calvus.
Fighting Calvus is incredibly easy as long as you stick to three things: Block, Parry and Dodge

You listed every attack except his stupid ass phase 2 spears. Those damn spheres are the only attack I struggle with. Pls advice
whats difference between poison and acid btw
both uses poisoning DoT
poison deals medium damage in the span of 15 sec, acid does high damage in 3
poison does 100% of the original hit over 15 seconds (but has a very low base multiplier) and acid does 50% over 10 (somewhat higher multiplier)

Burning Melting Poisoning or acid?
Acid inflicts the corroding effect while poison inflicts the poisoned effect. If I use a Poison Dagger imbued with Acid I can inflict both poison and corroding in a single hit.
@@bruh6627 Acid does the highest DOT over 10 seconds and has a good base damage multiplier
If you see calvus do a charge, and after the charge theres balls above him, that means he is gonna barrage you with blasts at some point, one time i got unlucky when he is using pillar and barrages at the same time, in the 2nd phase he will have arrow like shape blasts which will blast you 6 times an deal 75 dmg each which mean 75 x 6 = 450 damage total if not dodged, either he will launch balls first then the arrow

I have a full 2k crystal warlock and i rush the hell out of him. No blocking, no parrying, no dodging, full m1 spam smash crash and shot. Left with like 400 hp but still it does the job. i mean i still block and dodge a little but thats all yeah

Poison jaw is pretty easy to kill, it only has 600 hp. It you are a mage just use self or placed explosion
