I listened to the Lumina III and really enjoyed them, so I am planning on buying the V soon. I live in Italy and Sonus Faber is one of the main high end loudspeaker manufacturers in the country and I really love how they bring that natural, kind of emotional sound to the table coupled with craftsmanship and design. Hard not to like them in all honesty, except maybe for the price tag that comes attached, hope to forget about it once I plug them in :)
Luke, you've outdone yourself in not only describing the wonders of this speaker, which I have heard here in Kansas City at Sound Environment, but in describing what music does for the consciousness.
Also unique to the Lumina V is the mid bass has an internal lute shape cabinet like their higher end speakers. These speakers are scary good. They give you a lot of the higher end Sonus Faber sound without the expense of the fancy wood designs. These will convert a lot of people into their higher end models as they want more.
Hi you nailed it… I own a pair with Schiitt freya in the front and a Atoll IN 400 SE amp used as power amp. Rega planar 2, as turntable with schiitt mani phono amp and a bluesound node 2i as streamer…….Just HEAVEN……
Your “starting point” comments are why I opted to go up one notch to the Sonetto 3’s. I knew if I got these “entry” Sonus Fabers’s, I’d continue to shop for something better. In a few weeks, when they arrive, I can take a break and actually enjoy some music! Lol.

I am interested in updating my home theater sysem with a Marantz Cinema 40 receiver and 4K projector and a 7 or 9 channel speaker system by Sonus or Focal although ai am partial to Focal. As much as we love the Lumina V, it is actually priced somewhat less than what the 702 s2 sold for when you bought them. I'm curious, what have you decided? I also have a Rotel amp and I'm curious to know what you didn't like about the B&W (usually Rotel and B&W go well together). Since I don't have a dealer with both B&W and SF I cannot compare directly. Cheers.
It absolutely is! We've recently been to the Sonus faber factory in Italy to see how the speakers are made, and let me tell you - it's even better than you think! Just an amazing job by Sonus faber! Great quality products overall, you cannot go wrong with any of their speakers!

The most Beautiful Sonus faber speakers are the IL Cremonese and the Stradivari Homage.

@@mountainousterrain1704 just bought michi x5 and the combo plays allot better. Looks like rotel doesn't have enough juice for 702s2.

Lumina speakers are leatherette, not calf leather.
