Can you make faster mining with shovels, axes, picaxes... , for example: dirt - 1 sec with shovel but 2 with picaxe

LOL woah, that would take a lot of code... You could add it in your game.
couldnt you add a variable called something like "ToolType" and set the tool type in the pickaxes item meta using a number input then use that to make tools with the tool type "Pick" or "Pickaxe" have less speed then the "Shovel" in the tile meta make a variable called "MainToolType" or something and set that to Shovel for dirt and i dont know how you would make it so that the pickaxe is slower then the shovel but thats most of the steps on what you would need to do. i think maybe im dumb and its not that simple

the "project could not save" message usually appears if your lists are too long or if you have too many, try deleting everything in the lists before saving to make it go away

Good idea! That's already in the game- if you go into the player sprite, the playerTileX and playerTileY variables are the tile coords. :D

the not saving problem can most times be fixed by opening a new scratch tab logging in then deleting that tab to go back to the tab with the saving problem.

there's a bug for me, majority of the time when I click the green flag and the loading bar finishes, the game doesnt load and the loading screen doesnt go away, and it makes scratch lag alot. Can you tell me what happened? this has been going on since episode 3 I think.
Huh, sorry about that! It's really hard to tell what the issue is without seeing your code. The only thing I can think of is if your code in the loading screen sprite has an error. Try re-watching that part from episode 3 and comparing it to your code! :D

does this also work with a pickaxe sprite thats slanted 45 degrees? i drew mine slanted :/

when i let go of the mouse half way through the animation it keeps going until the end then stops, is this how its supposed to work or did i stuff something up?

Oops, I didn't prevent the player from mining bedrock yet. Also, yeah, the animation will play all the way through!
i made a sapphire pickaxe and sapphire ore, a ruby pickaxe and ruby ore, a topaz pickaxe and a topaz ore and i added obsidian which i will probably change because its minetime is 750, it takes a little bit of time to break like 15 sec the project id is 692581199
another way you can prevent bedrock from breaking is set the minetime to 999999999999999999999999999999999999999 because nobody is going to wait that long for breaking a single block.
I'm not making a mining game, more of a 2d minecraft thing, so out of curiosity, is it possible to add biomes?
Nice! Yeah, it's possible to add biomes, I just don't know off the top of my head.
@@ShiftClickLearn I assume it's something like a 1 in 100ish chance to change the biome after a new world slice, with a bit of extra code so you don't get absolutely tiny biomes

Is there any reason why my game incredibly lags whenever I swing my pickaxe?
Hmm, did you add an unnecessary piece of code in the swing script?
I found a bug where it still plays the mining animation when you try to mine air, will you fix that in a later video?
You can just check "if not (Selected Tile ID = 1) then do the breaking". (ID 1 is the air tile).

half/below full tiles like grass won’t select at all, selector just skips over them..
Huh... Did you hover over them (Like the colored part)?
@@ShiftClickLearn only if you hover over the coloured part does it work, otherwise the selector doesn’t select it. still shows the dats for the in variables though
@@ShiftClickLearn it selects only if you hover over the coloured part, but shows data of tile in variables as long as your mouse is over the tile itself, meaning some part is coded to depend on touching the costume rather than being in the tile coords
i know this because you can fix it by turning the sprite to vector (if not vector already) and filling the empty part of the 8x8 square with 0.01 transparency paint (only possible with turbowarp, also decreases sprite quality)

Did you add the wrong ID for the air generation? The ID for the air is 1.

Everyone followed the tutorial except me! Mine has a glitch where I cannot mine with a pick because everything item in the item meta list is 0. Even in the item grabber item meta list! It is also full of 0's! Do you know how to fix the glitch? I tried everything and nothing worked!
