Awesome lesson (truly amazing, awesome, really), but please help me out here!
I've learned that the word "saying" should be pronounced with an almost "mute" G sound: "sāiNG". But I'm pretty sure you pronounce the G very clearly. Is that a regional variation in American English pronunciation? This is very important to me, I'm teaching my baby to speak English and I've chosen American pronunciation as a reference!
    Best regards!!

Recently I’ve noticed people pronouncing “gonna” with just one syllable, like “go’n”. It almost has a “wn” sound at the end. Not sure if that’s a new trend or it’s just something regional that I’d never noticed before.

    Hi Christina,
Sorry, but I am still a little bit confused with the Recap part. In the text displays on the right of the screen, one can see "to", whereas I do not hear it when you say it. I 've understood "gonna" stands for "going to", meaning one does not need the "to anymore". Am I wrong ?
    thank you
    Renaud

    • @toddvoss52

Another thing about gonna: you wouldn’t say, “Are you gonna the show tomorrow?” or “You gonna the show tomorrow?” Although the 2nd example is better, one would most likely say ‘going to’; though I have heard, and used, gunna, with a ‘u’ in such a scenario, ie; “You gunna the show tomorrow?” Probably something to do with the sentence structure and tense? Lastly, although not a replacement word but more of a contracted form, there’s the familiar ‘goin’ which can be used in the above example: “You goin the show tomorrow?”

When I was working in a restaurant and ask for “something” to a girl she said something like “I go get it” or “i’ll go get it”. I was really confused because she didn’t say I’ll go and get it or I’ll go to get it. Or maybe she said it so fast that I couldn’t listen to every word she said. I would like to know if this is a way that native English speakers say as well.
