@@the_footballtourist the main rival of Mannheim and of Saarbrücken is Kaiserslautern. But Mannheim is the second biggest rival of Saarbrücken. So yes it is a derby

@@the_footballtourist well we’re playing awful football this year especially compared to last season. hopefully we won’t relegate to 4th division because our club was stuck there for like 15 years.but i guess the best/most important match will be against Rot-Weiß Essen or Sandhausen, both or one of them could decide if we relegate or not
Rot Weis Essen also very traditional club and a small rivalry between us

@@the_footballtourist that might be a while as my 1. FC Kaiserslautern plays in the 2. Liga now (though they are in danger of relegation at the moment) and Mannheim is in danger of relegation to the Regionaliga. Saarbrücken / Kaiserslautern derbies were also amazing. I lived in K-town from 2018-2022 and got to see many of these Südwest derbies in person, and they are what German football is all about. While I hate Mannheim and Saarbrucken, their fans are passionate and fantastic. FCS has also knocked out two Bundesliga giants in the Pokal tournament this year, so hats off to our enemies on the Saar River 😎
