Thanks for enjoying the video! - Hry
So far the most informative and useful Yoshi guide I have discovered. I'm a total Tekken 8 beginner myself, but this helps a lot. Thanks for video. You really succeeded. ❤
I'm glad I could help out man, means a lot
Just started Tekken 8 after only playing lei fei for some time on virtual fighter 5.
Thanks for the guide on Yoshi! I'm sure it'll be goated and hope it blows!
Finally an extensive guide! Was waiting forever for this. Thanks a lot man.

Yea this was an s tier video. My only criticism or I guess advice would be maybe having your inputs displayed just for extra clarity(even though you did a great job explaining what you were doing), and maybe having the sections more clearly separated and outlined. For example maybe a little bar at the top pops up when you’re talking about punishing and when you move on to I guess his best moves you could have a bar at the top as well. Just so that people know where they are in the video. I know I’ll be coming back to this video for reference and I might get a little lost. Honestly though dude this was great. All I’m seeing from other channels is like combos and various mix ups, but for me I’m brand new and I just need to know my moves I use in neutral to poke and prod and defend against my opponents. I want some foundational blocks to build on and this finally has them. This did an excellent job of showing me that. If you only make yoshi videos then great, but even if you don’t I’ll still come by when I want to learn a character.
Edit: also I’m a little intimidated by the crouch dash stuff
Good stuff bro! I'm looking for in depth guides like this to learn some new characters in T8.
This was the video I’ve been needing. Not knowing that Yoshi actually has frame traps is crazy to me. Thank you brother🙏🏿 hopefully I’ll see you on day in ranked. I realize now that the Yoshi community is a very large one but when we face off against each other it’s probably one of the most funny things to see in Tekken 😂
Ong bro, fought a dude last night and the first round literally consisted of just messing around 😂
20:07 That would be "Tobi ushiwaka", same name as the guy who was Spider-man in those movies
Thanks for this!, it really helped me alot!
Awesome. I use the console version of Tekken 2 character select. Thanks for the Yoshi advice of course as well.
the call of the manji clan was too strong. i decided to pick up yoshi with the new patch and have been watchin some other tut vids thinking this one was gonna be too over my head. i was wrong. i should have came here first. that wasnt bbl of me and for that i apologize. this tutorial is fantastic trizzy. thank you very much. i will be writing down the recipe so i can cook these fools proper.
Bro, u just learned us yosh, great channel
Amazing video. Can you do a tutorial/tips on hitting the ff2 2 ender and the f1+2 timing please?
Let's go Trizzy!
interesting that i got quite decent with yoshi in T7 yet now I need to fully learn him again.
it would be nice if you included the inputs on the side of the screen, but thank you for the vid
I will do that from now on, thanks for the suggestion!
@@64tre2 no problem! I think you can find the option under display in practice mode
Guys I just started tekken a week ago, this video is fine, just look at yoshis damn movelist and find the moves this guy does, it will get your brain familiar with yoshis good normals and key strings
Someone had to say it
I found that ‘no sword’ isn’t better but gives access to some moves good for mixups. The only problem is that his Dragonfly and Flea stance are sealed.
It’s not a stance to mash with, but a state where you are getting ready to mix them up. The moment you unsheathed the sword is when you’re certain of hitting, whether at the start or after mixup.
It’s better to not stop yourself from from attacking, but knowing your options from here.
Let's goo
you can use his ff4 as a whif punisher too since it has a lot of range but you gotta be really confident for it. It can launch moves with pushback like Paul's death fist but again you gotta be really god like with it.
🔥
This is my first playing yoshi in any Tekken and I think he’s top 10 as well.
Good stuff.
Are combo on this video still good after patches?:)
Yoshi definitely is a top tier character that’s why they nerfed my boy 😂 Thanks I learned some important things from your video 👍
Any advice on getting the 1+4 to hit after df121? Can’t seem to get it to hit after dashing up. Even running up to it doesn’t hit .
I watched a combo guide from Eyemusician and he would do a Side Step Right before running up to do the 1+4 so maybe that's the trick to making it hit more consistently?
You can either dash all the way up since you have a lot more time to dash up in this game compared to T7, or you can sidestep right before you dash up and then do it. Try doing it on a combo with shorter carry first and then try the actual combos you want
Are combo changed after flash nerf?
i will be calling heat engagers meat engorgers from now on. i dont even care about the tutorial, thats the only thing i needed to learn. thanks bbl.
Hey man, around 8:25 you do df1 and then (something)2. What is the exact move? I cant hear what u say since u said it so fast and i tried all the buttons yet nothing, thanks!
Crouch dash 2 or f,n,d,df2. Also called flashing steel
@@64tre2 legend, subbing for that mate 🍻
@@roshigg Np !
@@64tre2 flashing steel is df32 and its 17 frames. The thing you did is 14 frames :O but its not in the movelist
Why is ch being kept on?
Yo can someone pls tell me what the df1 follow up to beat the jab is? I've been sitting here for an hour trying to figure out what bro is saying. It just sounds like cross 2 to me lol
EDIT: The move is df 3+2. So df 1 > df 3+2
Crouch dash 2
Can you please tell me what the input for the move you end the combo with starting at 5:30? The one that goes through the opponent and switches sides??
FF2:2, It's ff2 into a just frame 2
@64tre2 thanks for the reply! 😊 but I seem to have an issue getting the last part to come out. Move list says FF2 then 2 "on hit" but I can't seem to get it consistently. Is there a trick to it? Do I press 2 immediately after the ff2?
I had a similar issue with devil jins low launcher [ F , N , D , DF 3 then 1+2 "on hit"] hopefully this makes sense
its a just frame meaning u have to hit it exactly on the frame. do ff2 in practice mode, and listen to the sound effect of when it hits. you need to time the 2nd 2 input on that moment that you hear the sound effect of them getting hit. @@Unholy187
@@kamcosmic thanks I'll try that. I usually will sit in practice mode for hours with no sound. I'll try going by sound of the first hit and report back.
Thing is.. at the end of a combo since youre running up that running attack is active as its hit box is coming out and it might hit on any of those active frames and it might throw it off and get only the running attack. For an example I can hit the just frame outside a combo everytime but doing it in a combo as the opponents hurtbox is falling makes it incosistent@@kamcosmic
I wanted some unblockable df1 combos
at 7:53 he says d/f 1 into WHAT 2?
The move name is flashing steel on the movelist 👍🏾
I heard, meat engager
I was looking for this comment the moment I heard it😂😂😂😂😂
Fresh
Without button press history it's hard to understand what u using :(
It's not if u know yoshi
db4 let sidestep, db3 has more traking
A Yoshi guide not covering how to go into NSS or NSS options. This shit was all over the place I'm sorry. Not really that helpful.
Bro if you need to know THAT then look at the movelist they have a list specifically for what moves go into mutou no kanami
@@jordansebert11 I can look up all this info from movelist and figure stuff out sure. Isnt the point of a guide to make that easier and pack it in a decent lenght vid tho?
