Unlike the other major cities of New York and London, Punk in Los Angeles was pretty much ignored by the major record industry. As bands sprang up, Los Angeles punk gave rise to a wide range of its own DIY independent records with labels like Dangerhouse, Bomp!, What? And Upsetter documenting the nascent emerging scene. @@roarboy Molto ma molto bravi gli Agent Orange, che all'epoca non avevo seguito. Spero che il libretto sia di valore, io per la storia di gruppi che non conoscevo mi rifaccio al libro di John Doe degli X sul punk americano e a quello di Federico Guglielmi, anche se poco approfondito
@@corradozedda2293 Bloodstains era il loro inno, posseggo Living in Darkness il loro album di riferimento ma non mi fanno impazzire, hanno pero' una miscela surf/punk interessante ( altri gruppi legati al circuito skate come loro ti consiglio i Faction e i Free Beer)...sul punk losangelino il libro di Doe è molto bello, quello contenuto del CD è più cronologico come racconto ma molto interessante, merita, è pero' tutto in inglese.
Se ti piace l'HC americano, il libro che devi avere è American Punk Hardcore di Steven Blush (c'è l'edizione italiana), considerato la bibbia sull' argomento (da vedere anche il dvd)..
@@roarboy sto ripartendo da capo per una conoscenza capillare. Vorrei riprendere gli Adolescents di quando c'era Rick Agnew e tutta la scena californiana, dato che con quella newyorkese ci sono. Decisamente meglio di quanto ho sentito di quella inglese, molto pompata ma con pochi nomi che mi piacciono veramente.
Più che hardcore però, più i gruppi legati alle origini
@@corradozedda2293 Decisamente ti consiglio American Punk Hardcore. Divide l'america a zone e le tratta tutte ed ha a fine libro una discografia enorme. Prova a guardare anche il sito della rave up records (etichetta italiana oltretutto)..si intendevo cmq l'hardcore classico Usa , quello fine 70 primissimi 80..l'america è una miniera..ancora oggi scopro gruppi misconosciuti fantastici...guarda anche qui: czcams.com/video/oQyMnB522WQ/video.html c'è anche un altro volume dedicato agli Usa...buona ricerca!

And not in the same vain...Iggy is in the rock and roll hall of fame...seen an interview with Iggy Pop once and he interrupted the interviewer every time she said punk rock,so ummm...this is the point.
And it was on MTV...
Well, it's a comprehensive collection. There's power pop too. If the label surrounding the collection doesn't seem very accurate, it's right because it deals with what they're doing with the guitars.
@@lazlokovacs2263 Don't get me wrong it's a good collection...I once owned it on vinyl before I updated to C.D...it's all quality...but as I said Iggy always considered himself a rocker.
