Koong is my absolute favorite Xikers song. It goes fucking hard. The choreo is immaculate. And yeah, I hope they stick with this sound. It fits them really well. But, I’m into that rap heavy stuff. I grew up listening to Tupac, NWA, Eminem, Common, Nas, Mos Def…stuff like that.. so this sound hits in all the right places. It took me awhile to get into DO or DIE. Not that it’s a bad song but sometimes there’s a song where you’re like “hmm 🤔”. The more I listened, the more I vibed. I love the chorus in HOMEBOY. It’s got this like, old school kpop feel that’s been modernized. I don’t know how to explain. The song makes me happy lol
Yea! im 100% the same way my music introduction was rap and i definitely look for it more in the pop genres tbh. ESPECIALLY when they’re actually good at it like these boys LOL. I’m not super huge on punk music (except for Bad Brains) so this kinda punk adjacent sound definitely stuck out to me. Like I said in the vid there are definitely parts that I really enjoyed I just gotta see if it grows on me even more. speaking of growing on me, HOMEBOY definitely has. It’s only been a few days since recording but legit it’s just sounded better and better

yea I definitely love their willingness to try different sounds but when they hit *that* sound hard it’s really crazy! I listened to their debut album and there was a song on there that really had me going crazy lol
Did you watch their Showcase performance of Xikey? I think drill suits them. Koong is excellent--I highly recommend the dp. I loved Homeboy from the start because it feels nostalgic, but it definitely took a bit to adjust to the way they sang across their vocal breaks in Do or Die. .
ive neither seen nor heard any Xikey content, but once I listen to the album cuts I will definitely be on any performances I can find. Do or Die definitely has great moments but yea I think it’ll just have to keep growing on me.
I love your xikers reactions and because you talked about the rapline and girlgroups, I highly recommend Dreamcatcher. I know I did it already, but in my opinion they are having the best rapline of all K-Pop girlgroups and with Dami the best rapper. My requests are Scream, Boca, Odd Eye, Deja vu, Maison, Vison and Bon Voyage...and all the other songs from their discogtaphy 😀😅
If you want to hear the best rap line in 4th gen, you need to check out Stray Kids. They also do a lot of beat switches, and they are 100% self-produced. I am saying this as someone who ults Stray Kids, Ateez, and P1Harmony. Xikers (my sweet goblin sons) def has the best 5th gen rap line so far.
