If the pouring temperature is 145, how can you take it off the heat at the same 145, add fragrance AND stir for 2 to 3 mins .... what temp did that drop to for the actual pour?? So confused 🤔🤔 I was looking for her to touch the wax cause in my head I'm like, that's gotta be hot 😄😁
I was also hoping that she would touch the wax just to ease my mind lol
Great video and instructions. Thanks WW Co.
Thanks for watching!
What do you melt wax to before adding fragrance?
I make blessed candles thanks for sharing this idea!
That's awesome! :)
Could you add massage oils and or shea butter?
Wooden Wick has a kit for everything!
Can virgin coconut soy wax be used for massage candles ?
This video is absolutely perfect!
Thanks for watching
What I was looking for thanks
Thanks
Stirring for 2-3min. Will drop the temp. down 145, right!
Thanks for the tip!
Happy to help!
i have made a massage candle and I love it.
They are so fun!
I love your aesthetics and I'm so excited to try your Coco Apricot Creme in the Discovery Kit I purchased, but it's almost been a month since I ordered and it's still being fulfilled. Nevertheless I'm super stoked to use it and your company is one of few that sells it. I guess I'm just getting anxious to use something other than soy wax for a change. I hear wonderful things about it.
I have the coco apricot creme. It’s amazing wax, the cold and hot throw is amazing and single pour I always have great tops.
Hi there! :) Send us an email to create@woodenwick.com so we can check on this for you! I am sure you're going to fall in love with these waxes!
How is the hot throw ?
@@christybrooks3729 hello what type of jars do you use ? Just curious. I just tumblers
@@makesyofficial hello, can we use coco apricot crème instead for massage candles? I ask because soy is not good for some people.
should you use the recommended fragrance load for a candle or for lotions since it’s a massage candle?
Great question! Don't go over your max load for your candle wax (i.e. if that is 10%), but you want to also check that your fragrance oil is safe for that % at lotions. As long as your fragrance is skin safe at a HIGHER percentage than your normal load for candles, you should stick with your normal load for candles. If it is lower (i.e. 5-6%) than you should lower your percentage in the candle to that amount.
Hi thanks for sharing this. So you don’t add any other oils to this wax to massage?
No, you do not need to! :) Just the liquefied wax!
I follow the melting and pouring temperatures recommended on this wax, but still get cracking. Any suggestions?
Make sure to pour in a warmer environment, don't move the candles at all until fully cooled, and you can also try heating your glass up before pouring! When all else fails a heat gun can fix just about everything!
with this wax, can you add butters and oils to it for a lighter oil?
You may! :)
Great video 😊
Thanks! 😊
I have a question,
How do you calculate the wax butter cream essential oils and carrier
The wax is 90% of your formulation being beeswax coco creme. The fragrance is 10% and there is nothing else added. For example a 10 oz candle would be 10 oz of wax and 1 oz of fragrance. Hope that helps!
I purchased this wax and was wondering if I can use this wax with candle tins and also on your website it shows the wood wick to use for this type of wax but what about regular candle wicks???
You can use cotton as well! We actually sell cotton wicks now and you can use our handy wick selection to find the appropriate size for your vessel: makesy.com/pages/makesy-wick-selection-guide
Greetings!! I am in process of starting a candle business and decided to make CBD massage candles. Can you make a video on how to make them with fragrance?
I guess im randomly asking but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb lost my password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
@Danny Korbyn Instablaster :)
@Khalil Christian thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Khalil Christian it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
@Danny Korbyn Glad I could help :)
Can I use your coconut apricot wax for this? Do I have to add anything to it?
Unfortunately, only our Beeswax Coco Creme is suitable for massage use.
Sorry i have so many questions. But im new to candle making and want to take the leap at it.. So here i go ... Can you use any color dye blocks in this? or does it have to be something specific?... If so do you have any recommendations? Also can you use this wax for wax melts and pillar candles?
Unfortunately most color blocks or dyes for candles are not skin safe, so they would not be able to be to use them in massage candles. Look for a skin safe dye or use natural skin safe dye powders.
@@makesyofficial thank you so much.... do you also think it can be used in wax melt form.?
Any reason why you can’t heat up to 180? The wax cooled way too quickly to stir in essential oils for 2min. It clumped up in my pot before I could pour into my candle jars.
Hello! We would suggest making sure your room is at a controlled temperature and not too chilly. You can heat the wax to 180 to stir for 2 minutes if need be. It definitely won't affect the outcome of the candle.
You don't have to add any oil? Isn't it really waxy on your skin? Thank you for the video.
You don't! It actually feels extremely moisturizing, like a thick body butter! I love it!
How long after extinguishing should I wait so that it’s not too hot to pour on hands or body?
Normally you extinguish and pour right away :)
How much fragrance can you use for 1oz? Is it like regular candles???
You'll want to reference your fragrances skin safe percentages and adjust to whatever the max skin safe % is for your chosen scent.
how many drops of essential oil for the massage candle?
Measure by weight versus drops! We suggest 6-8% load for essential oils (by weight). So if your jar holds 10oz, you would need .06 oz essential oil for 6% and the rest would be wax.
How big was your candle in ounces & did you use exactly 8 Oz of FO for the massage candle to wax ratio ?
That's what I need to know
i haven't used this wax before I usually use c-6 and add shea butter, vitamin e, and sweet almond oil with it for my massage candles. Would adding my usual cocktail to this wax still work? Ps- I only use makesy FO and swear by it so thank you! I use to use wood wicks in my massage candles but found them to have a strong woody smell on the skin do you think I'm not using a strong enough FO %?
Great question! Without testing your formula ourselves, it's hard for us to say. Because BCC is a firmer wax, you shouldn't have any problems adding your other ingredients but you'll definitely want to test! So glad to hear you love our FOS! :) It sounds like the wood wicks may have been burning too hot, not necessarily an FO issue. When making massage candles, be sure to refer to the IFRA for your fragrance skin safe percentage! Happy making!
@@makesyofficial thank you for the reply and such a detailed response!! big help!
Can you use coco apricot creme
Beeswax Coco Creme is the only one tested for skin safety! :)
when will you be restocking your waxes?
They are in stock! woodenwick.com/collections/the-wax
@woodenwickco Don’t wooden wicks burn too hot for massage candles?
Contrary to popular belief, when using the optimized wick for your wax blend they do not burn too hot. If it's burning too hot, you'll want to wick down in thickness or width!
@@makesyofficial thanks so much for the advice! Because I love wooden wicks so much!! 😍❤️
So no shea butter because of the wax you are using?, also if you cnage the vessel do you need touse a different wick siz like 9oz glam tin
Yes, you will always need to retest the wick if you change any component.
Hi! I’m new to candle making and had a few questions. Is there a new way to check if the scents are skin safe? I’ve checked some fragrances but I couldn’t find any info about skin safety. Also, are the colored mica powders okay to use in massage oil candles? Thank you! :)
Hey Renee! Welcome to the world of candle making! To check if a fragrance is safe for skin, please refer to the item on our website and click on "details" this well let you know if you can use that particular oil in massage candles. As for our mica powders, they are completely safe for candles, soaps, body care + more.
@@makesyofficial thank you 😊
Can you add fragrance to this? Or does it have to be natural
You can totally add fragrance :)
hi can i add oils to this with the fragrance
Yes you can! :)
Wondering if this is considered a cosmetic. Asking for us in Florida.
Hi Steven! It is 100% skin safe so it would be fine to use in lip balms or other face products. Because it has a high content of beeswax, for most cosmetics you would probably need to add additional oils to soften it up a bit. :)
@@makesyofficial So I will take that as a yes. Massage candles are considered a cosmetic. Sigh, one more thing I can't make here in Florida.
What are the measurements used in this video?
Hey Natasha! You may learn about the exactly measurements of our vessels via our customer service. They can be contacted here woodenwick.com/pages/contact-us
Being new to candle making do you have a vegan friendly massage wax?
Hello! You can use our virgin coconut soy.
@@makesyofficial is coconut/soy massage friendly??
@@MaddieKDGal Coconut Soy is not but our Beeswax Coco Creme is!
But Is the wax vegan if it’s made out of bees wax!? Sorry I know dumb question
Not a dumb question at all! It is not vegan but it is ethically sourced. Some vegans are OK with beeswax and others aren't. It's really a personal choice!
Thank you so much!!!
Where can I get the whole kit?
At this time we don't sell a massage candle kit but you can purchase the Beeswax Coco Creme and components here: makesy.com/products/beeswax-coco-creme-1?_pos=1&_sid=2c671e713&_ss=r
Where can I find the recipe please? Thanks.
It's very simple. Just Beeswax Coco Creme wax + 8-10% fragrance - that's it! :) You can choose your vessel type and be sure to reference the wick selection guide when deciding was wick to use.
What length is the wooden wick? 3 inches or 5?
This is a 5 in wick!
@@makesyofficial what size vessel
❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰
A lot of my costumers are vegan and won’t want this product since it’s made with bees wax. :( Do you have another wax that’s skin safe that can replace the Bess wax?
Side note , you guys have the best oils !
You can use soy wax, refined coco butter, avocado oil, shea butter and essential oil of your choosing
Can this wax be used for massage wax melts also?
Yes it can! It's a little on the softer side but we've found it holds up nicely in melts and tarts.
@@makesyofficial wonderful, thanks.
can you use coconut soy wax from your brand ? or do you not recommend it?
This wax isn't harmful to the skin, but because it isn't tested for massage candles, we don't recommend it! :)
@@makesyofficial thank you. I will just go ahead and purchase the beeswax coco cream
If I bought that wax 5lb = 2.26kg + $8.95 fragrance, I’d have to pay a whopping $79.95 shipping..
I wish there were better prices to ship to Australia 🇦🇺
Hey Natasha! We're working on better rates for international orders! Thanks for watching :)
How many pounds is this box?
5 pounds!
Are all of your waxes skin safe?
The Beeswax Coco Creme is the only one tested for skin safety! :)
The Wooden Wick Co. Will you be testing the others?
I'd like to learn how to make an edible massage candle
Edible candles are made of coconut oil and raw cocoa butter, do you really want to do that to your heart? Then who am I to judge, I will eat a tub of frosting if presented to me.
What's the recipe though?
Hi Sharona! Please reach out to our cx team for any questions you may have regarding how to make a product shown in our videos :)
makesy.com/pages/contact-makesy
This looked like a fabulous tutorial but the bakcground music was just too loud.
We appreciate your feedback!
Great video but the background music is so distracting.
Noted! Thank you for your feedback :)
I make massage candles but I "vegan" wax for the vegans out there.
That's awesome! :)
This is what I was looking for. I’m not going to only make vegan candles but I do want it as an option.
I am however, waiting on my package right now from the Wooden Wick Co!! Can’t wait!
Is this edible at all??
Great question! It is not but it is safe in lip products. :)
Mine works too. I used the Stodoys plans and performed it without any problems.
