Great job! I would really enjoy watching you push to a new effort of the sub 4 marathon!

Thank you and thanks for watching!
I can’t wait to take on the challenge of a sub 4. In the meantime I’m going after a Pb in the half marathon later on this year!

Well done dude! Always good to take time to reflect and take on board the lessons you learnt during a race. Especially if its over a distance you haven't done before. Sub-4 is definitely on the cards!

Yes, hopefully all good experience going into the next one where I will be targeting that sub 4!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts mate! I had the same nervy thoughts going into my mara with old injuries as well! Looking forward to seeing what’s next! Maybe another mara before spring 25 though!

Great work, mate. Sounds very familiar to my first at Manchester 2023. Training suggested sub-4 was sensible but niggle turning into injury at 28 KM really made it a slog. I’m still hunting for the “perfect” marathon, as many people are, but that’s what makes it so addicting! It’s a unique type of running and it’s easy to have a little disappointment, but that’s why we go again and again and again.
Well done again on your achievement!

I don’t like to sound disappointed because what I achieved was still very good for me but knowing it was there - what could have been. I will go into training fresher next time and adapt my training plan for a sub 4.
      Did your training differ 23-24?

@@CarlTheAmateurRunner The main change for me was adding strength and conditioning training. I know it’s not exciting (at all), but it’s really helped. Also, foam rolling for longer periods of time while watching TV.
In terms of the running, I trained a lot more at Target Marathon Pace and that really helped me become comfortable. Adding MP efforts in the latter half of the longer runs was especially useful.

@@Mack.Tracks being injury prone, strength and conditioning is a must for me going forward if I want to progress.
