I'm Kaz, a young farm vet working in Northumberland (but now on sabbatical in New Zealand!), which is in the North East corner of England. I grew up in the city and found myself doing this job by a very happy coincidence.
This channel is an attempt to show my friends, family, and anyone else who cares, what I do on a day-to-day basis. If you have an interest in veterinary medicine, farming, food or the countryside, join me for the ride.
I'm just loving the innovation these Kiwis have.
This is brilliant.
Have you done any videos in Ireland?
I was out for a walk yesterday and met 2 unusual- (for me) -looking sheep. All were dark brown and 2 were cream-coloured. I sang them a song and they all stood (a few were lying down) staring at me. They looked like statues. It was otherworldly. And the icy-dew all around added to the magic. And then the sun coming up behind them over a wee hill was the icing on the proverbial cake.
Not “2” but “27”. Twenty seven.
Not yet but give me time
@@farmvetfilms Let me know when you're coming to Ireland. I'll hook you up with some brilliant farmers. And are you far from Cumbria?
Good stuff! I see some people over there are growing ‘raphno’ think it’s a hybrid kale/rape as a summer crop. Rapid regrowth. Not available in the uk though sadly. We’re going to try herbal lays from next year as 2 dry summers down in Cornwall in a row making for some challenger lamb finishing. We’ve grown far more grass over winter than we have in june/july/august!
Yes I’ve seen some Raphno here as well! The summer dry a real theme.

Can you do a video on prelambing shearing? It seems to be something they do we don't that could be done here.
Oooh good shout. It might be a technical rather than a vlog as I’m running out of free days but yeah it’s on the list.
What’s a technical? Vs. Vlog?
@@roghabhrideradioshow I would guess that the vlogs are visits and the technicals are pieces to camera.

How many kilos of kale seed to plantain seed did he drill it at?
Good question Max! Let me get back to you…
