I can relate😭😭😭 I've been called Korean and Chinese.😭😭😭😭 Yes I am from northeast and yes i do look Asian. Even though I only watch Korean and chinese dramas , but I'm still an Indian,I was born as an Indian and I am proud of being an Indian . I love my India. Even if I eat beef and pork which is considered a sin for some of my fellow Indians ,I am still an Indian and we sing the National Anthem everyday in our schools and colleges , we celebrate diwali ,holi ,eid,Christmas and many other festivals.

I had some Chinese Hostel Mates (around 63 in number at VIT University, Vellore) during my Post Graduation. I am normally not into these discrimination feelings and lots of my friend does super like me for same and for my sense of humor. Coz, when they use to tease me by calling as a Chinese agent, I use to call them back as Bangladeshi or Srilankan. But, one day in the elevator, two Chinese guys were talking in Chinese as usual. I didn't even know that one of that guy was talking to me until my south Indian friend poked me and said: "I guess he is talking to you captain". I replied to him, that I am an Indian. To my surprise, within no time he (Chinese friend) said:" then you must be from Arunachal Pradesh". Till today I have to tell my Indian friends (Few) that Arunachal Pradesh does not use dollars and it’s a part of India. It makes me little sad to explain them daily in different parts of the country.
And the reality is we do look like Chinese. So, why to get offended when they call you Chinese. Our Names, village’s names (Mine is YANGJE) and pronunciations sound like Chinese. So, don't be sad. Call them back with the one they look alike.
And Do remember! East or West India Is The Best!!

They may look a little bit chinese but their culture n belief system is totally Indian, so only those bullies who are ignorant rascals behave in such foolish ways. One of my best friends is from north east n i don't find anything which can differentiate between him n me although we look different. These nasty ppl can be found everywhere in small numbers... In south, they'll discriminate against northern ppl by calling them pakistanis because they look different from locals, in north... Such rascals might call southern ppl srilankan because their looks vary... , some such trouble creators in north east look down upon ppl from north n south of India just because they r dark skinned. Similarly, few idiots might call ppl from north east as chinese because of their looks. We Indians are a mix of different looks... We r not a homogeneous society. But thankfully as more n more ppl r travelling to other extreme parts of India for studies n work, awareness level is increasing. Still, few idiots will exist everywhere who project their own negativity into the outside world.
