I'm amazed at the relationship with these animals and others such as elephants. And I wonder at how we still destroy things when it can be soooooo harmonious.
These horses are generally referred to as "draft" horses ("draught" or "dray" horse in the UK). They have been bred over the centuries as farm horses for plowing and hauling wagons. There are many breeds throughout the world with arguably the most famous being the Clydesdale breed which is used by a well known brewery to haul their beer wagon for promotional purposes. Apparently the largest draft horse ever recorded was over 3300 lbs and over 21 hands (86 inches) high.
This is a contest for specifically bred and trained horses. This may be extreme over long distances and incredibly frequently to an untrained horse, but for as short a distance and being a contest, (happening fairly infrequently) it isn't as harsh as one would think with no prior experience
Really beautiful animals ....I love them ..!

horse warrior gamer They are trying to see how strong the horse is. They are not treating the horse bad.
The horses love pulling. They are athletes. They are well cared for, even pampered.
